I look forward to seeing him receive a one game suspension (v. Arkansas State) next year (insert sarcasm emoji here). IMO, Harbaugh is a liar and a cheat. Of course, Michigan is more interested in winning at any cost than doing the right thing. Stanford was fortunate that he moved on when he did…..

Maybe that "enthusiasm" was previously unknown to mankind because it was illegal. I will say, when I did a deep dive into all things Turley-gate about a year go, it was disturbing to see how many former Stanford players from his era went on to get busted (often more than once) for PEDs.
It's also notable that Michigan is the longest Harbaugh has stayed in one place as a coach and that he never remained anywhere else for longer than three seasons...

Next season, Harbaugh will be gone for the NFL. But Michigan will have to deal with the consequences of this action, either from the NCAA, the Big 10 or both.

So if Harbaugh, say, suddenly tried to down a plane, we're still not entitled to have disdain for him? Is it just that you don't think these allegations are very bad?
I'm grateful to him for resurrecting our program, but that's not a lifetime get out of jail free card. By all accounts, his program was involved in a massive, coordinated cheating operation, and it just so happened to occur as Michigan rose to the very top echelons of college ball. And not dissimilarly, there's very persuasive circumstantial evidence that a lot of our "intellectual brutality" that he instituted was probably chemically enhanced.
Sorry, but I'm never going to apologize for having disdain for cheaters.

All I commented on was the disdain for our last two coaches that is so prevalent on this board. Nothing more. Thanks for solidifying my point (and trashing the players from 2007-2010 at the same time with "persuasive circumstantial evidence").

I'm in the camp of neutral fans who don't see the allegations against Michigan as being egregious enough for wins to be vacated. The main reason is that I believe the handful of published reports suggesting that sign stealing is widespread practice in major CFB:

With one exception.

I was not allowed to name that team since the head coach is still active in coaching.

If the evidence is as strong as it seems to be, I'd like to see Harbaugh suspended for maybe 4 to 6 games and let that be the end of it. I'm definitely not claiming to have the moral high ground here, but I just don't feel like it's necessary to go nuclear on one school when many, many schools are doing something very similar.

wouldn't that be the last three, as Walt Harris doesn't seem to be highly thought of. And maybe four as at the time of his departure Buddy Teevens was not a fan favorite.....
and it seems the current and previous two men's basketball coaches also are not well liked here...

Harbaugh's cheating will dampen interest from NFL owners because they now know the Skunkbears' "success" can largely get attributed to knowing the opponents' plays ahead of time. This explains why the Skunkbears choked in bowl games because they couldn't scout their opponent's signals.
Maybe he can get a job with the Patriots. This makes him the perfect successor to Belicheat.
Captain Comeback Crook deserves to get tossed and Meatchicken deserve a multi-season postseason ban. Don't feel bad for the players. They can just stampede through the transfer portal. If this happens, it will take a decade for TSUN to recover.

If it is proven that Harbaugh knew about this effort, IMO he obviously has to be fired. He has to be fired not simply because "cheating is wrong" (which it is), but rather for criminal stupidity. He has a great team with a good chance to win every given game. This poorly conceived scheme to get films of opponents sidelines to decipher their signals risked Michigan's reputation, the possibility of one or more wins being vacated, and some level of sanctions being applied. Michigan currently could be being DQ from the B1G championship. Maybe it won't happen, but with several other B1G teams bringing the charges, I wouldn't be confident it won't.
If Harbaugh wanted to cheat, he needed to at least do it in a way that would be much harder to discover. He could then conceivably ride off into the sunset with one or more national championships. Having a single individual buy tickets to 30 games creates an unusual "paper trail". No need to do this. Have the people who are doing the "camcorder" work buy their own tickets. Find a more discrete way to get the images than having somebody hold up a cell phone pointing to the sidelines the entire game! This makes the Watergate burglars look professional. The way this "plot" was executed is just plain amateurish. That alone should be punishable.

We should not be talking about what's happening at other universities. This is a board about Stanford sports. I only want to know about that and nothing else. Preferably only the Olympic sports. Also, no discussion about NIL because Stanford isn't doing it for real, so it really only applies to other schools.

My guess is that Stalions is not going to be unemployed for very long...I suspect he'll turn up in one of the 'villes -- Knoxville, Starkville, Fayetteville, Nashville, Gainesville -- or Lexington, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Athens, Baton Rouge, one or both Columbias, Oxford or College Station.
