Well your link worked and another great story by Jake. Great scouting by Folkl and husband.

Thanks for the link. Great to read, and really interesting to see the Folkl link. Another bit of evidence that connections are really important in recruiting.

A really interesting highlight reel.  One of the best attackers of the basket I have seen, especially for that age.  Great defense and aggression.  It would be nice if she picked up a mid range jumper over the next couple of years--she will eventually have to play against tall zone defenses in the Pac 12.  But what an incredible youngster.

I'm basically accepting that we won't have basketball next year.  Which means the 2021-22 season will be amazing, with so many talented players that we will never have seen play before.

Yeah, that is a nice spin move she has.  I worry a little bit that against better help defenses, her shots will get swatted (especially the underhanded scoop shots), but there were a number of plays where she easily got around her defender in one-on-one action.  She reminds me a bit of Alana Smith for her combination of size and grace going at the basket.

I think that's right.  She is 6'2" at the moment and spins in both directions, making it impossible for a single player to guard her.  But with help or zones and going into the paint against taller players, she is going to need an alternative like a jumper.  For example, when she goes up against 6'5" Nyrara Sabally, or 6'6" Kennedy Brown.  She might get around them, but not in a zone or if they have help.  But she has a lot of time, and adding a jumpshot is a whole lot easier than becoming athletic--which she clearly is already.  I like her future.

So, by my math it should be Christmas morning.  Any presents under the tree?

Sadly 19 plus 11 is still 30. Sorry you got up early to sneak a peek.

I was under the impression today was Christmas morning as well.  The tweet happened on the 18th, no?

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - BobK - 07-29-2020

Well my bad. Tossing my Finance degrees

I had the 30th. But. Well stay tuned then

I know who guess I’m hopeful that when is today

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - BostonCard - 07-29-2020

Going to guess Kiki, who would be great, but also hoping that there are two presents under the tree.

Guessing Kiki, too.  But two would be lovely.  If it was Kiki and Azzi, I would start running around in circles in joy!

Only one.

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - Lorcan - 07-29-2020

That’s the impression I’ve gotten too about the one. Here’s hoping that we will hear soon.

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - Lorcan - 07-29-2020

In other news, Taylor Miksell has been granted immediate eligibility to play at Oregon. She’ll be a pain, shooting pretty well from downtown at 42% with about 12.3 points per game while at Maryland.

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - BobK - 07-29-2020

Wow. How could be this be granted.

In other news Kat Tudor has applied for a redshirt

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - Lorcan - 07-29-2020

This one did surprise me, because it’s not like Oregon is closer to home in the middle of the pandemic. Makes you wonder what the circumstances of her leaving Maryland were.

Doesn’t say why

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - Lorcan - 07-29-2020

So, apparently it was just Christmas for Oregon with Mikesell. Hope springs eternal for incoming recruits.

It looks awfully barren under the tree today...
