I'm glad the 2s and 3s got wins vs. Cal today, since they lost close matches to them yesterday.
Tomorrow we'll find out if that's good enough to make the NCAAs.

Looks like we did about as well as could have reasonably been expected. No shame in losing to the top team in the country twice, and we did beat Cal twice and Arizona. I think we’re clearly the third best team in the PAC-12; let’s hope three teams make the tournament.

There are no autobids for beach volleyball. There are three teams from the East, three teams from the West plus two more at-large.
"East" and "West" are defined by conference.
USC, UCLA and LMU seem to be locks for three West bids. Most of the discussion is about Cal Poly and Stanford being "at large".
The East teams are expected to be FSU, LSU and TCU.

What time is the announcement made for the NCAA selection of teams? I think Stanford is capable of beating any team in the country other than USC and UCLA.

So does that mean we start off against #3 FSU? Getting the 6th (rather than 7th or 8th seeds) would be key, because I don't think we can beat either of the top 2 seeds.

Yes, I don't know how good FSU is but I'm also pretty sure we won't beat USC.

Also note that it is a double-elimination tournament, so a first round loss doesn't immediately send you home.
BTW, Emmy Sharp and Amelia Smith were named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team. There were two pairs from UCLA, two from USC and one each from Stanford and Cal.

Thanks John. I thought it was a double elimination tournament. The NCAA.com selection video showed it as a single elimination bracket. It would be a bummer to fly across the country, lose one match, and then fly home.

Stanford twitter says FSU match at 10:00 am PT on ESPNU. Maybe programming starts at 9 and play at 10. I don't know.
