It definitely is if true, because that can affect the lie etc.

Englemann lost her match. It's up to the NCAA champion to bring home the trophy.

The penalty didn't matter. Rose won the hole without it.

- Zhang is heavily favored to win
- Krauter & Seay are favored to win but they need to sustain their level of play throughout the tournament
- Heck & Englemann are the wild cards. If either of them plays well, we could win 4-1
I love that Coach Walker is putting Seay & Krauter out first. They will set the tone and Englemann & Heck can feed off that.
I like our chances to win any match that is even or better after the front nine. We have played much better on the back than the front.
Great call winflop! Send my best to coach.

Yep. One stroke penalty. I listened to the Oregon assistant coach explain what happened. Basically a brain fart. They thought Rose's ball was on the other side of her cart and didn't even notice it. That's rough, but at the same time even without the penalty, Rose made par and won the hole outright

Well Oregon actually outplayed us on the back nine, but the massive front nine leads were too much to overcome. At the turn I thought we were going to run them off the course.
I can only imagine how hard it is to come into this tournament having been the #1 team all season, with the #1 player all season, and win both the individual and team titles. brobdingnagian kudos to the entire program - players, coaches, and staff.
Gonna be a fun celebration coming up at the golf course in the next few days!

What a tournament and what a great win! Krauter and Seay completely dominated their matches. Although she lost her match, Englemann did great and not allow Oregon to gain any momentum. Zhang built a lead and just played safe throughout. She didn’t need the penalty shot to win.
Excited for the team’s future. Heck, Zhang and incoming freshman Megha Ganne. Future is bright.

Don't forget about Seay. It was great to see her just get better and better through last summer and throughout this year and become confident that she really is one of the best amateur players in the world. And with a 4.0 GPA in Hum Bio, she's a serious NerdGirl!

No comment about turtling? The Stanford players with big leads were playing quite conservatively, playing for ties.
I would say Oregon scored better than Stanford on the back nine, not outplayed. The aim for the team is to win, not win big.
