Turns out we weren’t in Cain’s final 4.

its sure helps recruiting when the head coach mentions the NIL for UCLA women's basketball is/or will be paying out $70K per player.
I'm afraid there is also a perception that UCLA is heading upwards and Stanford heading downwards.

Yes. UCLA has all the talent in the world the next few seasons. Will see what they can put together. We are historically a better program with a HOF coach, multiple Final 4s, and multiple National Championships. UCLA has none of those things as of now.
We are at a crucial juncture but I'm not giving up on Stanford WBB as many on this board seem to already have.

It will be interesting to see how UCLA with all the current talent does, just not this upcoming season, but how they manage/navigate playing the B10. Wonder if UCLA once they starting playing a B10 schedule will UCLA adjust their preconference schedule to reduce travel to a minimum.

We will still be very competitive, especially with Brink (assuming she stays healthy and out of foul trouble).
I just wouldn't be making plans for another Final Four.

Hailee Swain is in the group of 14 finalists for the 12 person USA U16 team. Great job to Hailee thus far and best of luck in making the team. If she does, Stanford will have a PG on the U16 team (Swain) and a PG on the U19 team (Lepolo).

sj mercury today says McKenna woliczko made the team. no mention of the other 11, and the usa basketball website today still lists only the finalists.

In the clips of the trials I saw, Swain looked great. Very happy for her. Some chance she may be the starting PG on that U16 team.

And Swain was the starting PG for the U16 national team's first game. She played the second most minutes of any player. Scored 10 pts and had 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block. We've had national team PG's before (Anna Wilson and Jenna Brown come to mind) but none that I recall were starters. Congrats to Hailee.

Katie Fiso 2024 to Oregon. Had offers from all Pac 12 schools except Stanford
I added Nina Cain 2025 #41 McCatchy HS Sacramento. She was watched closely by Stanford this weekend at the tournament I was at. 4.0

Oh cool! It's McClatchy though—I'm only nitpicking bc my wife went there.
Seems like she's maybe a Lexie Hull type of player?
