How many innings for Nini Torney? Will Ramsdell? Eddie Sadowski? Sal Yvars? Wes Westrum? Johnny Edwards? Toby Atwell? Bob Schmidt? Valmy Thomas? Herman Franks? Johnny Blanchard? Passed balls are subjective and often blown calls by official scorers. They don’t ask the pitchers after for the most part.

I'm thinking Cardinals, Pirates, Dodgers, Yankees...

Claude Osteen, Bob Gibson, Tim McCarver, Clemente?

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 11-08-2021

Nope. Ar least not per the web site I’m using

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 11-08-2021

Don McMahon is one:

1957/8 World Series Milw vs Yanks
1968 WS Tigers vs Cardinals
1971 NLCS Giants ve Pirates

Relief pitcher

Willie Mays must be the easy one. Played in the World Series for the Mets in 1973.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 11-08-2021

Mays is two.
A Dodger and a Tiger at least the teams they were most known for

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 11-08-2021

Norm Cash.

Stan Williams.

RE: Sports trivia thread - qwerty49 - 11-08-2021

Good one, Bob.  I thought it had to be some youngster on the 59 Dodger roster like Tommy Davis or Frank Howard but then I looked them up and no.

Do those playoff games the Dodgers had in 58 and 62 count as post-season or regular season?

Games played to break regular season ties are regular season games (see 1962).

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 11-09-2021

Cash and Williams World Series 59 and 60s
Then post season not playoffs like Giants Dodgers 1962 in 1970

Phogge got them Cash and Williams

What MLB pitcher has the most wins in his career without a single regular season at bat

Clemens?

Name a catcher and the year he won the gold glove when he didn't fit the Top Five of any of the following categories as a catcher:

1) Defensive games.
2) Putouts.
3) Caught Stealing percentage..
4) Double Plays.
5) Caught Stealing.

He did have 0 passed balls, finished third in assists

By way of comparison, this year's Gold Glove shortstop, Brandon Crawford, finished in the Top 5 in defensive games at shortstop, putouts, double plays turned, assists (he was 4th in the league in assists).  The only category he wasn't top five was most errors.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 11-09-2021

No not Clemons

Johnny Bench the catcher
