Team was great and can't add anything more in that respect to what others wrote. But comment on officiating; our fouls were deserved, no issue there. The refs were lax on Utah though. One play bugged me the most. Haley was pushed out of bounds by Utah player when Haley was going for the ball and ref called it out of bounds on Haley. Clearly a bad call. What bugged me was the ref was right there and the push was so obvious.

Tara was indeed gracious as always, and so was Utah HC Roberts. I like her. Utah along with Ucla will be the next best teams (after us) in the conference next year. Utah has a lot coming back and good recruiting. Ucla as well. Except for ASU, probably WSU, and maybe Colorado, the conference will be absolutely loaded and teams will beat up on each other. We will be champs again, but not dominate like we did this year.

Agreed, that that was a horrible miss, but I think the ref was screened by Haley's body.

I hope you are right.  It will be a very big adjustment to lose Wilson and the Hulls--a much bigger adjustment than using Williams.  Graduating three starters won't be easy.

Yeah, I was in LA for the Final Four Molly played in. I think she was MVP.

Me too!

Just confirmed it, Molly WAS the MOP. Also for the regional that year.

Yes, looked like Lisa Jones was standing where she couldn't see the push. Brenda Pantoja was in a perfect spot to view the push and came over and said something to Lisa after it happened. Couldn't figure out what she said, though.

Thanks for this! Great to relive the games. Although I have to take issue with her characterizing the crowd as “disappointing.” As I recall it, we were loud and raucous!

And if she thought the semis were “comatose” I think she might have been watching another tournament. That matchup with Staley’s UVA—a 1-point, come from behind victory in the national semis—is still one of the most exciting and tense games I’ve ever seen.

Any word on a homecoming celebration on campus today?

With the KM situation still fresh in the minds of everyone on the team, I doubt there will be any type of celebration. Besides, the WBB probably only wants to celebrate (parade-type) NCAA championships, not P12 championships.

The team left for the Stanford area last night

That'd be great, but I'll be a bit more selfish (current 28-3 record) and hope for a 34-3 to win the championship again!

I thought we were 27-3.  My mistake.

Okay, how about this?  All that is left for this team is take Route 66 to the Natty.

This tournament was an experience of a lifetime for me. I had the best time and just feel lucky for everything that happened these last few days. One thing I would change is definitely getting tickets as soon as they are on sale and not in the Stanford section. Luckily I found some $40 court side tickets in the second row for the championship game via resale. Stanford feels like a community and everyone embraces everyone, which is awesome cause I’m more reserved and a little more on the shy side. I ran in to Kate and a few players near the elevators and they were all very kind. Hope to cheer team on for what I hope is 6 more wins.

Great hearing Tara coaching on the sidelines

Also classy on both ends during the postgame handshakes, Tara complimenting Utah and wishing them well in the tournament and one of their assistant coaches telling Tara, "go win the national championship."

P12 Conference Championship Presser. Incredibly touching in the end, watching Haley pick up Lexie in a very emotional moment.

These are such impressive young women, off the court as well as on it. Reason number gazillion to be glad to be a Stanford fan.

comments on Minnesota and "you know I have that cabin up there" made me laugh, as my wife's uncle has seen her several times on the lake where they live.  I, unfortunately, have never had the pleasure.

my guess is that she said something like, "we missed one there. since we can't blow the whistle 15 seconds after the play, let's make up for it on the next play - which they did."

The baseline ref was shielded and couldn’t see the push. The ref who would have had a clear view was the near sideline ref, but apparently she had run down to the other end of the court to cover a fast break. If you look at a replay, you can see there is no ref on the near sideline.

I've long thought the women's hoops coaching staff shells/sweaters are very sharp.  I prefer Kate's full zipper look, but Tara's half-zipper is good, too.  And the block red S with the white tree logo insert is much cleaner and superior to the green tree insert.

Anyway, very sharp look by the staff - I've long thought it and the up-close video reminded me of it.
