Sidney Wilson too
Not as a starter, though.

I consider a defensive specialist/server who plays in a regular rotation in every set to be a "starter," just not a 6-rotation player. But YMMV!

That makes sense. I guess I was thinking more like basketball, where there's a starting 5 plus several players in the main rotation who always play a lot but don't start. But in VB, whether someone who isn't a 6-rotation player is on the court at the start of a set depends on what rotation the coach chooses to start in. So literally "starting" isn't significant; what matters is if you're in the main rotation, so everyone in that rotation is in a sense a starter.

I considered Wilson in my original post on this topic. In my terminology she is a serving specialist; playing one out of six rotations. I view that role to be a serving sub, but I can see her being classified as a starter.
Looking at tomorrow's match I'm interested to see if Lougeay is going to play. In the fall Stanford desperately needs a good DS. At this point Lougeay's skills are unclear because she hasn't played in a college game. If Lougeay doesn't look like the answer, Stanford's #1 recruiting priority should be a DS.
From the spring season IMO it is painfully clear Barty can't pass at a D1 level. Baird isn't much better. The fact that Kipp hasn't even been given a chance to be in the passing rotation kinda indicates Hambly's opinion of Kipp's passing.
Without McClure in the fall, who will pass the ball. Oglivie looks pretty solid but that's about it.

One hopeful aspect about this disastrous season is only two players in WVB program history left Stanford before getting their degree. One player left after her freshman year due to homesickness and moved back to Michigan. That was about 25 years ago and she eventually came back to Stanford for her masters. The other player, Logan Tom, left for the Olympics and to play professionally.
And Logan Tom came back and finished her degree after she was done playing.

Kipp played back row first week 2nd week had to play MB
Last year at a chalk talk Hambly spoke highly of Baird’s all around play when we see her after her redshirt year

No Kipp. It doesn't appear she's in the gym so I don't know if injury or Covid.
Stanford playing its usual low level volleyball and losing in the first set at the moment 14-16.
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball -
BobK - 03-19-2021
Kipp in a boot. What a year
And despite missing their top hitter Stanford takes the first set 25-22
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball - Softball Fan - 03-19-2021
Stanford wins first set 25-22.
Lougeay in street clothes.
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball -
BobK - 03-19-2021
L Smith also here
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball - Softball Fan - 03-19-2021
Anabelle Smith playing well offensively. The one position Stanford will have good depth in the fall is at MB.
Yeah Kipp in a boot and a sweat suit.
Stanford up 20-12 in the second set.
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball -
BobK - 03-19-2021
Plus Campbell here
So Campbell, L smith, Lougeay and Kipp all on the sideline all Hurt
And Stanford takes set 2. 25-16
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball - Softball Fan - 03-19-2021
One bright spot: Oglivie had some spectacular digs in the second set.
It looks like Campbell is wearing a knee compression sleeve rather than a metal brace so she may be fairly well along in her recovery from surgery.

Tufuga has played some RS. But it’s Fidalak abd Xu sharing the setting. Each has about the same number of assists.
For Campbell it has been 6 months
It’s 25-16 Stanford for the 3-0 win

Yeah, I just looked at the stats. You're correct. I wonder if there is any longterm significance to Fidelak sharing the setting.
Not much enthusiasm on the court from either team. The only person pumped up in the match was the ASU coach who got a yellow card for arguing with the referee.
RE: Stanford Women's Volleyball -

No long term with Miner abd Greene coming in. I’ll bet
McClure 18 kills hit 444. Just outstanding
Baird 15 kills 306. Those are the out of system hitters which shows the setting by Xu and Fidalak was very good
