vanessa took a leave from windward in 2021 to be an assistant coach with the las vegas aces. i wonder if juju's transfer is related. ebony hoffman has been acting head coach.

i had the same thought; but then i seem to recall that brink was not nearly as good as a junior in high school as at the end of her stanford freshman year. we knew she was good, but not this good.

She was so good I honestly forgot she was still a freshman last season until just now.

Brink and Betts on the inside are going to be something.

BC
Betts is playing well for the US in the U-19 tournament in Hungary. She is 1st in rebounds and 3rd in scoring while only 7th in minutes. Coach Close must respect her overall play, in the Quarterfinals today, Betts played most of the game and excelled. She looks solid, completes plays, and executes. She is also the youngest player on the team, with another year in high school ball remaining and playing among several NCAA starters.
Can’t wait to see her improvement after her last year of high school when she joins the Cards!

So Demetre plays and defends all five positions.  Impressive.

I was very impressed by Iriafen in that video.  Long, athletic and very bouncy.  Grabbing all kinds of rebounds and very good body control / touch finishing around the basket.  I keep hoping for the second coming of Chiney Ogwumike and she may be it.

Kiki Rice is on the USA U-18 3X3 World Cup team with Janiah Barker ranked #2 '22, Ayanna Patterson ranked #3 '22, and Mikaylah Williams '23 (says she has 4.0 GPA). They have two games tomorrow, August 24th at 7:25am EDT and 9:40am EDT. And two games on August 26th. Games are only 10 minutes long. You can watch on YouTube's FIBA3X3 channel

Some Stanford recruits playing on the Fiba U16 Americas Women's championship team.

The broadcast only showed the starters so here is the full roster with jersey numbers if you're interested in who the recruits are.

Thanks for the video link.  Officials called few fouls.  Mendelson hustled down the court and is fairly mobile for a player her age and height.  Missed some shots under the basket.  Too young for me to extrapolate where she will be in two years.

Mendelson is on the U18 USA national volleyball team.  Her body physique looks more like a basketball player than volleyball.

thanks for the link. videos of games already played are available, so we don't have to watch in the middle of the night. watched a bit of usa vs belarus. 1) kiki is very good - big, strong, skilled, high-energy; 2) other countries not previously on my radar for recruits have good players, too.
