True for the women, but several men have accomplished this - including Ben Crenshaw with a 3-peat.
Guess I misread that one. Oh well

Rose is turning pro immediately, hats off to a great player. Albane Valenzuela beats Lila Vu in the LPGA Match Play Championship. Congrats to her. Andrea Lee plays Nordqvist in match play today.

I would say you're only half wrong. Hats off to Rose for taking two conflicting impulses and pathways to her future and choosing what Buddha called the Middle Way, a balance between head and heart that honors both.It may prove to be a brilliant choice as she continues to nurture and be nurtured by her powerful campus connections and the opportunities for inner growth, while taking on new challenges and relationships as part of the LPGA Tour. As Shakespeare once penned, "This above all, to thine own Self be true". One can only hope that our politicians 'Wake Up' and discover the maturity and wisdom to find a middle way to solve our debt crisis.

One more story to wrap up the season. It's from the beginning of May, before the NCAA tournament. But it will give you an idea of what Rachel Heck has been through.

There's a great article re Rose Zhang in Tuesday's NY Times. It might be in The Athletic as well.

A little good news for the women's team - Brooke Seay is coming back for a fifth year! So the team only loses Rose Zhang (to the LPGA) and Angie Ye (to graduation), and gets Paula Martin as an incoming freshman.
Despite losing Zhang, they will likely once again be the favorite going into the year. I expect both Seay & Heck to be 100% by the start of the fall season.

Athletic Department awards were very kind to women's golf:
Brooke Seay - Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year
Sadie Englemann - Block S Outstanding Junior
Rose Zhang - Al Masters Award (top athlete in any sport) - for the second straight year

The Women's PGA Championship kicks off today at Baltusrol with five former Stanford players in the field:
- Rose Zhang '25
- Aline Krauter '22
- Andrea Lee '20
- Albane Valenzuela '20
- Mariah Stackhouse '17
In addition to Zhang, keep an eye on Valenzuela she's having a great year currently ranked in the top 40. Lee isn't playing as well as she did last year, and Krauter is really struggling having only made one cut in eight starts this year.

You can add Maria Stackhouse to your list, she and Andrea are + 5 for today's round. Rose is 2 behind the leaders after 15 holes. Albane has yet to tee off and I didn't see Aileen's name on a quick run through.

Top 10 finish in her first major as a professional. That's a great accomplishment.
Watching the broadcast, I learned that Rose had already played TEN majors as an amateur. Wow. Just wow.
