Yes it is and I have to say that it would be almost criminal if Allister isn't coach of the year. She takes holdovers from last year who hit .273 for the season and 57 homeruns and turns them into a group hitting .367 as a team and only 9 home runs behind last years total production. The improvement in hitting is staggering and she has evolved pitching staff that relies on 3 pitchers in every game. Kylie Chung's improvement on the mound is exceptional.
I see A&M is ranked #2 and we are #6. I would love to send them packing in the series. Don't get mad, get even!
Women's golf goes into the last 9 holes of a tournament on a very hard course against the #3 ranked team down 6 strokes and wins going away. I always felt golf was a sport where there were really a good number of players who could shoot par, very few who can do it when the pressure is really on. Out ladies seem to be able to do that.
Now if we can just produce a similar football team.

No, you got it. My apologies for not making my reference clearer. I find Canady's statement that it wasn't all about the money but a chance to be a hitter a little self serving. The fact is a million dollars is a million dollars and to get paid that to pitch a softball would be very hard to turn down for almost anyone that age. So I would like us to make the series and be matched up with her team and that beat them with her pitching. Yes, a childish viewpoint but you have to admit the way the season is going it may well happen and tickets might be hard to get.

Well, the way RPIs are trending, that matchup would likely be in a regional hosted by Stanford at Stanford Stadium. So there may be tens of thousands of tickets conceivably available. :) However, in all seriousness, I think Texas Tech would likely be sent to an SEC school for regional (UT or A&M come to mind) to minimize travel.

I had a feeling that was the case. I think the confusion is that she's at Texas Tech, not Texas A&M. Minor typo, but I think the source of the confusion :)

I tend to agree GK3 money was possibly the primary factor. That's fine with me. She had an agent handling all the offers from around the country. The offers kept increasing in value. She chose the highest one from Texas Tech (by coincidence?) . They have a new coach this year and have never made the world series.

You might wonder why one would leave Stanford, a program that has reached the Women's College World Series back-to-back seasons all the while being one of the top universities in the world for a Texas Tech program that has never reached the College World Series, hasn’t made the NCAA tournament since 2019, and can’t hold a candle to Stanford academically. The answer is very simple: $1.05M. That’s how much Texas Tech is offering to pay her per season, made possible by boosters John and Tracy Sellers.
While Stanford was comfortably offering her six figures to stay, my reporting indicates it was likely in the range of $200-$350K per year.

Ouch. Tough day for several Stanford sports: Water Polo, Baseball, Softball: Ahead late; the opponent takes the lead; Stanford rally falls short.
(But then, Artistic Swimming won the National Collegiate Championship (non-NCAA).)
A triple play by Virginia Tech in the top of the 6th, followed by 5 Va Tech runs after two out in the bottom of the 6th to go up by 3.
Stanford scores two runs, but can't bring the runner on 2nd home in the last two outs in the top of the 7th.
