RE: Class of 2026+ - BosCard - 08-05-2025

Iriafen was the 19th ranked player in her class from Hoopgurlz.   Yes it would be great to get the #1 ranked player in back to back classes but top 25 players can still be superstars in college.  Would be very excited if Wynn, Byles or both committed the the Cardinal.

Not every top athlete wants to take 7-8-9 AP classes. Sometimes a top student says not for me.

RE: Class of 2026+ - Lorcan - 08-06-2025

Abii with a top 5, no Stanford.

Stanford already was not in her top 10 in June.

We aren’t in Bjorn’s top 5

Bummer - really like her game.

Separately, I've seen that top 50ish post Fope Ayo may be visiting this weekend. Can anyone confirm?  She doesn't do social media apparently...

I fear it's will be hard for Kate to recruit the top talent going forward.  The draw of playing for Tara is not there and last year being the team's first in ACC, and first without Tara, was worse than even the lowest expectations.  Kate and team will really have to show significant improvement this coming season to remain in the conversation.

This is a critical year I think. The infusion of talent from the freshmen class should safely put us back into the tournament win and hopefully a run to the Sweet 16 or even Elite 8 depending on matchups would put the program trajectory back on the upwards path.

It's going to be tougher in the NIL era, but that doesn't mean we just give up. Hopefully, the new AD will help bolster Kate's resources to attract recruits. We shouldn't let us ourselves become the Louisiana Tech or Old Dominion of college wbb, once powerhouse programs that are now irrelevant.

Recruiting for the Class of 2026 got tougher when Stanford's Class of 2025 was signed, which on paper is a stellar class. High school players do look at depth charts.

I think the threat of Tara retiring actually hurt recruiting at the end.  Kate's first recruiting class was #3 in the county and large with 5 players (and none decommitted when the season went poorly.)

The team is young, deep and talented.  Kate's most important recruiting task will be keeping the current players. I actually like 2026 commit Jordyn Wheeler a lot in terms of how she fits into the team. In my view it's not that crucial that Stanford pick up big talents for 2026. If everyone came back we would still have 13 players with Jordyn (14 if Lepolo uses her eligibility, which is one more player than we had last season).  It's kind of like Women's Golf.  They are loaded with young stars so Anne Walker just took a couple of walk-ons for 2025.  It doesn't mean that Stanford Golf suddenly tanked. They've got more big guns coming in for 2026.  That said, I'd like to see one more 4 star WBB player (or better) for 2026.

Are we sure on Wynn? I can’t find anything posted. Can you post the link?

:’-(

Hopefully Amari Byles comes. Probably has more upside than Wynn long term

Ngenda an intriguing fit for depth

I saw that Wynn shared a friend’s final five… maybe it was that? Can’t find anything else from her.

RE: Class of 2026+ - BobK - 08-27-2025

Guilty as charged. Bet I saw the friend’s final five. Thx

Seems to me 5-8 transates more to PG than wing or CG at the next level.  Hard to tell from this clip.  It will be interesting to see how she does against bigger/stronger competition.  What happens when she has to go against a RosGo or Lexie-type defender?

she's not playing point guard for her high school. perhaps she has those skills, and they're not visible here. and perhaps we don't take her or she doesn't crack the depth chart with taller wings on board. but stanford has traditionally liked to park a high-% 3-point shooter out at the line. at that size, if she's not the ball-handler, she'll have to be a great defender. perhaps recall our 2021 national championship team, which started kiana at point and the 6'1" lexie hull and the 5'9" anna wilson at the wings. if you like, watch from 4'0" in the video.
or check out this video. at 5'0" you can clearly see the pg with big and little wings equidistant. also fun to see haley at high post and cam at low post.
