She (and her partner) won the Santa Cruz CBVA AA event Saturday, earning them AAA ratings.

[Note that there seems to be a different Hannah Fleming in Lincoln, NE, who is also a volleyball player, but class of 2022.]

Never mind, she has committed to UCLA.

Xolani Hodel won another CBVA Open at Hermosa Beach (partnered this time with Josie Ulrich, Cal Poly).

Apparently Klineman and Ross have decided to stick together and go for Paris 2024.  They just won the Chicago AVP without dropping a set (though one went to 40-38!).

Bummer, I might have gone to watch that if I had known in advance and time to prepare for it. I could have made it a week-end of beach and indoor. My oldest son lives in Palo Alto. I would have dragged him along with me although he has zero interest in volleyball.

Waiting for Stanford to post a schedule for 2022.  USC, UCLA, and several Bay Area schools I checked don't have them out yet either.

On a whim I checked Pepperdine, and they do have a schedule.  It includes a two-day event at TCU, April 15 & 16, which also has Stanford and HBU (Houston Baptist, I assume).

Pepperdine even posts their fall schedule of events. 
ETA:  And I see they are playing Stanford today in Santa Monica.

Daria Gusarova from Cyprus lists herself as Stanford '26 beach VB on her instagram.  Maybe she is a walk-on, so no announcement until she enrolls?

Wow if Daria Gusarova is a walk-on, that's pretty good recruiting.  As best as I can tell from her Instagram she is a regular on the FIVB beach tour and was in the qualification rounds for the Tokyo Olympics.

Note that the FIVB site does not have her actual birth date.  (If she was born 01/01/0001, she would be 2,021 year old next year.)

Interesting to see that one of her partners has been Erika Nystrom, who apparently has dual Finnish/Cypriot citizenship.  I saw Erika play with her twin sister Emilia back in 2007.

Daria Gusarova has committed to Stanford, and somebody from Stanford athletics posted it on instagram at 7am on a Sunday.

(I guess Gusarova was too busy playing in Brazil to sign earlier in the week.)

There's an Elyse Stowell at BYU; might be an older sister.


She earned a CBVA AAA rating last month, winning a AA event.

Thanks for posting John.  Coach Fuller has been killing it lately in recruiting.  Stowell is 6'2" and really good.  Can't wait to see her out on the Stanford courts.

This is a little unusual.   Both these recruits start their Instagram post out with identical wording:

"I am excited to announce that I have verbally committed to the application process at Stanford University..."

Maybe the coaching staff asked them to use that wording to make sure no one assumes they have already been admitted.
