Heferren's UVa bio
Quick comment on his UVa coaching (see 2nd paragraph) mentions developing UVa's line to one of the ACC's best
Sept, 21 interview (just before his first stint at Stanford) he talks about O-line philosophy, recruiting
He was only here 2 years and I don't remember hearing much on how he did here, but those were at the tail end of Shaw's tenure so maybe I'm just blocking it out - any/all insights are welcome.
Ben Muth (former Stanford OL) hates this hire. "Maybe it works out, hope it does, but our offensive lines under Heffernan were the worst of the Shaw era."

I will add that Virginia had the 2nd team all ACC center this year. And a tackle and a guard on the 3rd team.
I was hoping for Mike Bloomgren to return as OC/Oline coach now that the Brown's season is over.

John Harbaugh might be available soon. Anyone from the Ravens' staff know Tavita? I guess Willie Taggart is an Assistant Head Coach / Running Game coordinator, but that's pretty easy when you have Derrick Henry.

Unless the OL got markedly worse during Heffernan's years, controlling for exiting transfers and incoming freshmen, I don't know if two years is enough to turn around a program in bad shape ('07-'08 notwithstanding). Heffernan obviously wasn't coaching his recruiting targets, and the 2021 season was the first where NIL money and transfers really altered the college football scene.
Luck (and Pritchard) are smart guys. I wish they'd been able to announce hires sooner for stability and transfer destination attractiveness, but maybe this was the hand they were dealt.

I get the sense that Willie Howard would love to come & coach DL, but I assume DC needs to be firmly in place before that could be considered.

Now that Stefanski has been fired, maybe he'll come back, although with an OC in place at Stanford, I imagine he'll find another spot in the NFL. The Browns had a great defense. They entered the season with three QBs, and exited with essentially two rookies. Their offense was abysmal all around.

Kingsbury, the coach I wanted to be our new head coach (with Tavita as the OC if he wanted) just parted ways with Washington.
John Harbaugh is reportedly out at Baltimore. He'll be hired within 2 weeks by another team.

It's a start - glad Agnew is coming back - would've be a <really> bad look if he wan't asked to return, considering the
reasons cited in the GoStanford article and earlier. Glad Kody's coming back as well.

Williams is technically a "defensive quality control analyst" and not a coach, though I believe he was heavily involved with the NB position in particular.
Thus far, all of the "analysts" and graduate assistants besides Fred Guidici ("senior STs analyst") are returning.

We have a QBs coach:
Lindgren to Coach QBs
So we actually have a head Coach, OC and QBs coach and they are 3 different people!

We certainly saw the results of special teams this season. We're getting Nate Kaczor, most recently a special teams analyst for KSU but has experience as special teams coordinator for three different NFL teams, including the Commanders, which is his connection with Pritchard.

These three different people are Pritchard, Heffernan, and Lindgren. A handy link to the
staff directory can be used for confirmation/more details. It looks to me that on paper Lindgren has the qualifications to be the QB coach and also the offensive coordinator. We seem to have a highly qualified group, but it of course will be determined on the field, not on paper.
Now, what we need is an official defensive coordinator name. Pete Kwiatkowski is rumored to be the target, but there is no official news. The elapsed time being as long as it has makes one wonder about how this search is going.

even with no nfl opening, zero chance stefanski would come here under tavita. would be like a grand master being taught by a novice

I think the “he” referred to Bloomgren, not Stefanski, though I’m not positive. Presumably Bloomgren either already has been or will be let go when the new head coach is hired in Cleveland, so would he be willing to come back to Stanford as an OL coach (no).
Muth may have jumped the gun when rumors were pointing to Kwiatkowski.
