A) We would all hope so, obviously.Â The guy we missed out on in 2012 was Jameis Winston.Â OK, so maybe his off-field issues would have made him a bad fit here, but no one can deny his talent.

QB is simply too important a position, and because it is a singular position, it is not like you can really move a player from another position in there to shore up depth (as we did, for example, with DE when depth became a concern there), or safety, where we are moving, ironically, a QB.

The closest analogy I can find is running back.Â Right now we have six running backs on the roster: Tyler Gaffney, Anthony Wilkerson, Ricky Seale, Remound Wright, Kelsey Young, Barry J Sanders.Â Next year we have Christian McCaffrey coming in and Brandt-Smith (if he is being looked at as a RB) so we may still have six RB's on the roster.Â Yes, RB is slightly different because you can get reps to multiple players in a way that is atypical for QB's excepting garbage time.Â But still, you need to have more than three because, Miles Jack excepted, it is atypical to move a player into the position.

For me, I think five is the ideal number for QB's and RB's.Â It lets you recruit an average of one a year assuming a redshirt season, but lets you skip a year in a bad year, and take two in a bumper crop.Â You don't want fewer than four or more than six, generally.

That's five, not six. And, at any rate, my backseat driver suggestion to the coaches would be to bring in a 2015 QB and simply not invite Crower back for a fifth year.

If Lloyd sticks at safety and/or Crower doesn't comeback for a 5th year(I highly doubt this happens unless someone passes him on the depth chart)Â then sure we can take a QB.

Some quick happy news. Arrington Farrar's been doing the junior recruiting camp circuit and has won some positive reviews. Georgia has a camp in September for their juniors and here's what their coach had to say about Farrar (he was co-best DB):

Farrar's currently at the Under Armour combine for juniors, where he (apparently) looks like the "most explosive so far" at the camp and ran the shuttle in 4.2.

Brady White from Newhall Hart, the alma mater of former Stanford players Kyle Matter and Delano Howell.

"Trolling" because a consensus top-2 2015 QB not named Brady White and Rival's current #2 player overall has effectively stated that he would commit if given an offer. We offered someone else who almost immediately committed to Alabama, didn't offer said #2 player, and then offered another player way farther down the perceived pecking order.

Let's just say the staff felt that Rosen would not be a good fit for the program, for reasons that have nothing to do with his athletic ability.

To make it clear, I'm not up in arms about the decision not to offer Rosen. I would, however, really enjoy the freakout if Shaw et al. passed over Rosen twice.

It is a little more complicated than that.Â Rosen is an obvious talent, and I don't think the staff disputes that.Â They just aren't sure how good of a fit he would be with the team.Â We'll see.
