Wow, I couldn't get away from work to check out the Texas game until it was over. I watched the first quarter on DVR and then peeked at the final box score since it looked like Texas was getting smacked. Were they ever!

Not sure why it was deleted; maybe copyright?. It showed a screening Baylor player hook Bueker's arm. The refs missed it.

Is there even the slightest hope that Arizona can defeat UConn? It is hard for me to imagine a scenario where that happens, other than UConn getting a covid test that knocks out some players, or McDonald having the best game of her life and scoring 50.

Unlikely, but you never say never. Today UCLA (an 11 seed) beat #1 Michigan on the men's side.

Highly, highly unlikely. I can't see Zona staying within 15 points of Yukon. Besides Aari, Zona does not have much that will worry Gene-O.

If Arizona can keep the game in the 50s, anyone can win it. They even have a shot in the 60s, but anything over 70 and UConn is almost unbeatable.

UConn only used 6 players against Baylor. The three perimeter players went 40 minutes each, while three bigs split the remaining minutes equally. So wearing them out is conceivable, at least.
If we meet UConn in the final, it'll be interesting to see if we can make our depth tell.

I won't get my hopes us. Imagine how others were feeling while watching our first half against Louisville. But first quarter goes to Arizona. And that is better than I feared.

Another shout out for not holding to the last second; Arizona had the ball with about 25 seconds left, and McDonald just went, scoring with 25 seconds; UConn then misses a bad shot as the game clock was running out.
UConn will not be shooting 21% all game.

16-10 Zona lead after one. Way too early as Yukon had plenty of time to get going. Aari had the hot hand. She'll need to get close to 30 to have a chance for a win.

What do you want to bet that Tara and her assistants are putting all their scouting into UConn, knowing that they have already scouted Arizona twice. If Arizona does nothing more for us than that it will be a help. Of course, if they beat UConn, then we will go against a team we know inside and out, and they us.
