Still going to be tough to pluck her out of Indiana.

Not saying academics aren’t important for her….but I think the likely reason for Vanderbilt is Shea Ralph. She is the new head coach this year, and previously was at UConn and recruited heavily. So, she likely had a relationship with Shade while at UConn and it continued when she took the HC job at Vanderbilt.

I think it's a good sign that Vanderbilt is on the list, means she's interested in academics.

You're probably right, although Shade was not necessarily strongly recruited by Shea Ralph before Ralph got the Vanderbilt job. Vandy's previous coach had offered Shade a year earlier, in July 2020. Ralph re-offered Ashlynn Shade in April 2021, soon after she got the job in mid-April. UConn then offered Shade in May, so it might be that Ralph and UConn were just then fully appreciating Shade's talent.
Shea Ralph seems a great get for Vandy, but Vandy may become a future competitor for some of our recruits, which it wasn't previously.

Ladine cut her list to Cal, Iowa State, USC, Washington, Rice, and Colorado. Stanford never offered.
Betts is taking her visit to Stanford this weekend.

I'm soooo looking forward to seeing her in person -- only a couple of months to wait!

ladine is ranked #85. she's local and a good player; perhaps the coaches like the similarly ranked fauntleroy better?

I'm sure we'd all be thrilled to get the #1 guard to go with the #1 post player in the 2022 class, but do we have any reason to think Stanford is still in this race? I thought I read here that Stanford is out of the picture. Of course, I'd be happy if that was not, or is not, true.
And since we're always obsessed with 2-sport athletes in football and baseball, maybe we can get a female equivalent if the fans here could convince her to go out for WSoc. She apparently was DC Gatorade Player of the Year as a high school freshman!

This is why we have reason to think Stanford might still be in the race, despite indications on social media (a while ago) that Stanford no longer was. In addition, since that post, Rice cut one school from her list (Maryland), which wasn't Stanford. If Stanford were truly out of contention, wouldn't she have taken the opportunity to trim her list further?

I'll be seeing that same colleague next weekend and will ask for any updates then. As I said, they're very well connected to the DMV girls basketball scene, and they also (so far seemingly accurately) predicted Azzi Fudd would not be the world-changing college player some have been pre-ordaining, having seen her play many times in person. Based on Fudd's very solid, but hardly out-of-this-world play during the U19 tournament, I'm inclined to defer to them on this, too.

Not sure if Betts actually took her visit or just had a home visit with the staff. It appeared to be the latter.
Stanford never showed much interest in Ladine outside of reaching out to her roughly a year ago.
Fontleroy seems to be very high on Arkansas. She had a really nice summer.
edit -- It seems she may be headed elsewhere:

Betts is not on an on-campus visit. None of the students or team are back yet. BETTS OFFICIAL VISIT IS THE END OF THE MONTH.
Nivar is supposedly NC State's recruit to lose. Maybe this class only ends up being Betts ONLY. Disappointing all the recruits we've missed on in this class. (Gardiner, Jones, Nnaji, Ashlon Jackson, Bolin, Dunn) on and on.
However, if Rice lands at Stanford, two top 6 recruits would be possibly the first time that's ever happened at Stanford.
