That was a fun trivia question. Growing up in Denver, I became a Broncos fan despite their ineptitude - no winning seasons in their first 13 years. I spent way too much time collecting AFL cards and watching AFL games on NBC (with Curt Gowdy & Charlie Jones), so I know lots of names from that era.

Frank Tripucka and the vertical socks - the early AFL was a fun time to be a football fan. I saw many a game at Frank Youell Field in Oakland. Cheap tickets and wide open football.

Just three MLB players have played at least 1,000 games in the infield and 1,000 games in the outfield.
Who are they?

Rose yes, Biggio no.
One of the other two spent his entire career with the same NL team and was a brilliant hall of famer. The other played 19 years in the NL and three in the AL for six teams. He never led the league in a single category, but was a 2x All Star at age 34 and 38.

My guess is Russ Hodges ("Shot heard round the world" fame) but it didn't feel right and I couldn't wait. I looked it up and, yup, I"m wrong. Close, timewise but wrong.

Very good guess. Frankie Frisch was the NY Giants first television announcer, followed by Steve Ellis for two years, then Hodges.
