Kris Bubic goes into his third start of the season for the Royals tonight with a 0.00 ERA.

Clemson game, bottom 4. This season encapsulated. Runners on 1, 3, 1 out. Runner on first takes off, Saum fires a strike, out. Next pitch: wild. Run 6 scores.

OMG we’re in danger of being run-ruled by Clemson next inning (10-1, B6).

IIRC Clemson is #4 in the country. I'm sure that if I misremembered, corrections will be incoming.

We are last or near the bottom of the league in ERA and opposing batting average. Middle of the road (surprisingly, at least to me) in walks, HB and wild pitches. The starting pitching was hit or miss, so to speak, early on, and the bullpen was stellar. Since the break, however, it seems the entire pitching staff has been struggling mightily on the weekends. The offense just seems deflated and can't keep up.

Every single year. Different team after the break.

I gotta add that the 11th run was a bases loaded HBP in the bottom of the sixth.

Shades of the
1st game this week of the double header between teams with 99 and 42 game losing streaks. The winning run was due to a bases loaded HBP in extra innings.

Our opener, Speshyock, faced 4 hitters and gave up a bomb of a 3-run shot, and we’re going to the ‘pen. Hoping for better outcomes with O’Harran on the mound now.

We plate 5 runs T2 (after 2 outs?) including a lucky hit where the RF couldn’t track a high Becerra fly ball, and we’re leading Clemson for the first time, 5-3!

Clemson scores 5 B2 to lead 8-5.
Stanford comes back with 2 runs T3 on a 2-out 2-run homer by Haskins (3 for 3 in 3 innings! A triple shy of the cycle!). Apparently, Lim is supposed to pitch B3 (but Esky needed 3 pitchers instead of 1 to eat up the first 2 innings).
Down 8-7 but it’s still a ballgame!
Esky just gave the most awesome interview. Can someone post the video clip? I was literally laughing out loud (as were the announcers). He basically said everything was going according to plan and he credits good coaching (tongue firmly in cheek).
We re-take the lead, 10-8 T4. I’m going to have to open a beer and hunker down for the long haul here.

The starting three were suppose to be the strong point of this team. The Friday starter has been struggling, and the new Friday starter has no control.
Why should he stay??

2 away, runners on 1st and 3rd, Sasaki gets rung up on a pitch that was below his knees. When can we get ABS (automated ball-strike system)?

Sources tell me that Eager was responsible for the development of Quinn Matthews and several others. I don't think he's the problem.

Not enough guys like Quinn Matthews and too many guys who repeatedly get shelled. He's the problem.

Or maybe — hear me out — the current pitchers are not at the Matthews standard.
