I signed up for the football STM Q&A this Saturday and was given free tickets for the softball game. I'm planning to go to the game and will count toward attendance. I'm not sure if my tickets will be counted as "sold" tickets.

I have to think that the final number will be a combination of tickets sold + people attending who did not purchase tickets.

The announcers today said sales were 11,500.
Just over 1000 to go to 12,500+

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - Griffins78 - 04-19-2025

Got two tickets and will be there

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Gates opened at 11:30 am so fans should be entering the stadium now.  Any report by Cardboarders about the vibe at ground level would be appreciated.

We’ll, Kal just led off by hitting the first pitch out of the park, which didn’t help the vibe…

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Cal fans sound pretty excited about it.

Actually, what you’re hearing is their excitement about the two doubles and the HBP that has followed… :-0

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Geez, this game couldn't have started much worse for Stanford.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - M T - 04-19-2025

Have they announced attendance or ticket sales?

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Out call at home plate reversed.  Cal up 3-0.

Cal up 5-0 with no outs yet.

Cal up 5-0 with no outs yet.  I think it's time for a pitching reliever to come in.  This isn't working.

Why would you start a Freshman, who is having control problems, in front of a very large audience?

Then, she gives up 5 runs and NO outs...and you leave her in?

Can't  understand this at all.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Ok, Stanford out of the top half of the first inning. Maybe the bears are going into hibernation. But five runs is a lot of damage.

76lsjumb - 76lsjumb - 04-19-2025

Vibe definitely just improved with Stanford’s 3 run HR…

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Jade Berry with a home run.  Announcer called it a berry good swing.   Score 5-3.

Ok, first inning over.  If Stanford can stop Cal from scoring I feel good Stanford will score more than five runs in this game.

If fans like big hits, they're getting their money's worth.

Chung comes into the game to start the second inning and gives up a two run home run.  Score 7-3.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 04-19-2025

Chan with a three run home run.  Announcer said yes she can.  Score 7-6.

A wild contest for a record crowd.

We simply do not have enough pitching depth, with only 3 pitchers on the roster, to have one of our pitchers supply effectively no innings in an entire weekend. I know we want to win this one in front of the record crowd, but having already clinched the series win, keeping the rest of the rotation healthy for the postseason has to be the priority over getting a sweep.
