Transfer. For academics. Not to Stanford because it looks down its nose at transfers but there are plenty of schools with great academics. You guys are not alone...really.
Phogge, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, tens of thousands of Stanford applicants yearly would disagree with you on your notion that Stanford is just another school with good academics.
Transfer acceptance rates (source: admissionsight.com):
Princeton 1.0% (1,360 applicants, 13 accepted)
Harvard 1.0% (1,553 applicants, 16 accepted)
Stanford 1.4%
MIT 4.1%
CalTech 1.9%
Dartmouth 0.5%
Yale 2.5%
The difficulty of being admitted as a transfer student these days isn't unique to Stanford. The availability of a top education at less exclusive schools is an entirely different conversation, but transferring to the highest ranked universities (those generally regarded as Stanford's peers) strictly as an academic applicant isn't something for injured athletes to count on as a backup plan.

I guess it depends what we need more. Sanborne will be a senior, but we do have a sophomore punter (Wesleman). Karty is only a junior, but we do have Kenny, who is also a PWO.

He's primarily coming in as a punter, but indeed the good news is he can clearly do both if needed (recall Sanborn did too).

Not exactly any football powers in bed with Stanford on the transfer thing. In the New World Order of college football another spike in the coffin that is Stanford football.

Hey. Anybody can be a fan. And fans can bitch and moan. And get pissed when "factors" lead to crappy teams. Just like, "We were a few plays away..." when in fact the team got drilled and were about 50 plays away.
So old fans remember 0-10 in 1960, newer ones remember Buddy and Wlat, just incredibly bad hires.
There are only a few Harballs and Farhan's. There are many Muir's.
So should us older folks just roll up and die or shall we just stay angry and bitch until there is some change? Whatever.

It's just that if bitching about Shaw caused changes there would have been changes a long time ago.

I thought that the noun in that sentence was “band” and “Leland Stanford Jr. University” describes the band. Thus, “ The one, the only, the truly incomparable, Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band.” shortens to “The Band”, not “The Stanford University”.
