That being said, Matt, I think you are presenting Green's record a bit misleadingly. Here are the win totals by year:
3-8, 5-6, 8-4.
Compare that to another turnaround guy who bolted to the NFL:
4-8, 5-7, 8-5 (and then, of course the 12-1 Orange Bowl season)
But, broadly speaking, Green's first three years were pretty similar to Harbaugh's.

I think Ravens fans can't get rid of him fast enough. But of a red flag in my mind, though the coordinator and coaching skillsets are different.

Eh, fans (especially in certain cities) are quick to turn on coaches and suffer from grass is always greener syndrome. Go look at what Rams fans say about Mcvay, or Niners about Shanahan before the last winning streak.
Roman has had the ravens in the top 10 for 3/4 years in ppg on an offense with no good WRs, a decent TE, and a talented but flawed QB. That’s impressive. How he will do with the other aspects of recruiting, managing staff, setting culture etc I can’t speak to, but he’s a reasonable target for us.

Ravens fans are not the sanest bunch, not sure I trust their reviews unreservedly. As someone who's living in the Beltway, I find myself warding off Sunday tedium with the Commies by watching, instead, the Ravens. Roman's been pretty solid with them, in my view.

Open to this or any other hire. Some other names that interest me, though I haven't heard them anywhere:
- Jeff Ulbrich
- Bienemy
- Mike Maconald
- Brian Flores
- Vance Joseph
Yep, they're all NFL assistants. You would think that would leverage some recruiting advantages.
Ulbrich is at the top of that list for a reason: absolutely infectious personality with a toughness reminiscent of Mike Vrabel. But he's also got great NFL experience as a player and a coach to go along with some time in the Pac 12. He's also a South Bay guy, born in San Jose and went to high school at Live Oak.
I'll never forget the season with the Niners when he was told after a few games that he'd be demoted from the starting lineup on defense. Rather than sulk (as multi-year starters often would), after this meeting he walked directly to the special teams coach and asked to be put on every special teams unit. The guy just wanted to play football and contribute wherever he could.
Will it happen? Nope. But it should.

I forget what it was (running up the score maybe) but TW did something toward Stanford when he was at ND that really earned the enmity of Stanford fans.

Domers were ahead by about 40 late in the game. Forced to punt but the Stanford’s didn’t cover one of the gunners and the punter did as he was coached and fired a pass for a first down. Willingham was still his stoic self. He got his from the Irish fans in ensuing years (a lot of it probably racist). A coach doesn’t have to be a clown but every now and then he should at least smile. I never saw him grin.
He begat Teevens and Harris but they begat Harballs so it all worked out.

He also completely refused/failed to do his job so egregiously as a recruiter (literally did not recruit offensive line for years) that he’s quite possibly more responsible for Teevens’ failure than Teevens.

I do recall that he had a star OL from Florida all ready to fly out for his official visit when they had to call him and tell him not to come because admissions had turned him down.

He started out 8-0, then went 13-15 the rest of the way at ND. At Washington, he went 2-9, 5-7, 4-9 and 0-12; finishing 10th, 9th, 10th and 10th in the Pac 10.
As a Stanford fan, I loved what he did at ND.
