This offense, and even NiJaree herself, seems to really feed off of momentum. Great job seizing it early (at least for now).

4-0 Stanford as Kaitlyn Lim takes Lexi Kifoyl deep! Stanford with a fantastic bounce back performance, chasing the undisputed 2nd best pitcher in the country after only 3 2/3 innings.

Stanford with a 6-0 lead after 5 innings. Bats are really working tonight, especially by our freshman. The future looks bright for Stanford softball.

Stanford dismantles Oklahoma State, run ruling the Cowgirls 8-0. However, the concern is whether NiJaree Canady is ok after apparently hitting herself with a pitch.

So glad for run ruled and the rest day. I’m not sure if Canady could have pitched another inning especially after hitting her knee.

I would have turned to Regan after Stanford got it to 6-0. But I think memories of the Saint Mary's game meant Coach Allister and Nyberg wanted to avoid having to bringing NiJaree back in a worst case.

What an amazing all around performance tonight. An absolute clinic playing effectively a road game (Stillwater is an hour north of Oklahoma City). I still think the LSU game 3 is the greatest win in program history, but this is instantly up there, and definitively the best WCWS game Stanford softball has ever played.

Fun game! Very happy to see the Stanford women get a win, and Canady with the shutout!
Loved how loose the team seemed, though Canady clearly felt the physical strain at the end. She's been great and also gritty.

I'm a softball newb but starting to watch since my young granddaughter has started to play youth softball.
How unusual is it for a player to pitch two complete games on consecutive days? I know the games are shorter than baseball games, but does a softball pitcher suffer less wear and tear than a baseball pitcher given the same number of pitches?
