Here's a link to a recent article about Shield Taylor who sports a 4.35 GPA:

Feeling good about this one.
His lack of speed jumped off the screen in his Hudl video. Clearly being recruited as a designated blocker.

Primarily a fullback/H-back recruit, yes.

What a great name for a blocking fullback!

And there it is!
Of note: all his other finalists - UW, UVA, UCLA, Duke - wanted him as a true TE.

Excellent and I’ll bet TE at Stanford

If you can make the grade why not Stanford, he's a smart kid, education first... and we do well with OL development.

Yeah, but can he punt? Long-time Stanford followers will know the reference, which I think dates back to the Willingham years.

Looks like David Shaw’s winning streak against Cal on the recruiting front is about to end. As long as I can remember, Stanford has not lost an admitted recruit to Cal. The on field performance of late may have finally started taking a toll off it in a much more tangible way than Stanford fans can accept. Y’all can handle losing such recruits to Notre Dame or Michigan, UCLA, Washington, maybe even USC. But Cal?
The inability to aggressively address clearly slipping team performance vis-a-vis the competition is showing signs of sending Stanford to the bottom half of the PAC-12 North in ways not imaginable a couple years ago. Goodbye Washington and Oregon. Hello Washington State and Oregon State.

Lorenzo Alexander, the last recruit accepted to Stanford who elected to go to Cal.

And had a very nice NFL career.
The Cal staff is creating a miracle in Berkeley. Not quite Harballsesque but impressive nonetheless. However, what will be the Covid fallout? They do have to protect their QB this year if they play because like Stanford he’s all they have. Cal has defensive strength but will lose most of that defense in 2021. And there is always a chance that they could lose Wilcox, especially if they win the PAC 12.

Wasn't Lorenzo Alexander denied Stanford admission? I mean I remember questioning how he was good enough for Cal but not Stanford. Similar story to Joe Igber, who also went to Cal after he was denied Stanford admission.

I’ll stand by my comment. No shortage of athletes who couldn’t get into Stanford then went to cal.
