I have a very good feeling about Rice:
  1. She and her family seem to highly value academics
  2. Stanford connection through her aunt
  3. Plays a position of need for the team and could start as a freshman
  4. Joining a team loaded with talent in fellow top-10 or USA Basketball players (Jones, Belibi, Brink, Demetre, Iriafen)
  5. Follows a lot of Stanford players/recruits on instagram (Jones, Belibi, Jump, Brink, Harriel, Iriafen, Demetre, Bosgana)
  6. The fact that Bosgana and Rice follow each other on instagram.  Bosgana follows almost no US players except her future Stanford teammates.

I appreciate the optimism.  I have trouble getting excited when we are one out of 11.  (Although I can understand her pride in getting (at least) 11 offers.)

Some other reasons for optimism...

Stanford was the first team on there.  Could be random, or (hopefully) a sign of favoritism.

She includes one Ivy League school, so academics are important.

She includes two other Western schools, so distance doesn't appear to be an important concern.

Academics definitely a big factor. Kiki's parents went to Yale, which is likely the reason for their inclusion. She also attends Sidwell Friends, which is where many of the Presidents' kids go. Elite academic HS.

Iriafen and Harriel's AAU teams faced off today, and Iriafen's won 49-45.

Hope that doesn’t mean diminishing probabilities on some of our top ranked ‘22 prospects!

thanks. then harriel is #21 in black, with the blond-tipped pony tail.
iriafen looks quite good; reminds a bit of chiney and of bird.

Punishment for not traveling to the East and South for travel ball

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - Jskass - 09-08-2020

So East Coast bias rears its ugly head again? Let them under-rank the Western athletes at their own peril.

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - BobK - 09-08-2020

Seems rankings for espn are no longer by Olson. He was outstanding at Games like 2/3 of the year. New group is Premier Basketball

South Carolina is corraling top recruits left and right. A new evil empire emerging?

RE: NEW, June 16 Women's Basketball Recruiting - dcnav - 10-02-2020

2022: Any rumors about #1 Lauren Betts? I see we're on her list (along with a bazillion others). We seem to have been doing well in Colorado recently so can we hope? It would be lovely to see a mobile 6'7" anchoring the middle.
