What a lot of fun you are.

My intended joke was to leave out "marching band" on purpose.
Thanks to Yvonne for remembering the full phrase we left it out of!

Matthews is a '23 recruit - I put him in the wrong thread. He reports a 4.0 GPA.

Sam - is it correct to your knowledge that Stanford is not in play for Jaxon Howard? He lists Miami, LSU and Minnesota as his final 3 according to 247.

He wants to be a TE. We did not want him at TE - we have a commit there and possibly another coming. Also a possible door #1 issue.

Willie Howard, his father and coach, indicates the choice will be made by July, after visits to Gophers, LSU, Miami.

Suggests that maybe our staff thinks Lonergan will be picking South Carolina. Also, Novosad is committed to Baylor, and while we might flip him, I do wonder if we will have to turn to a plan B.

Stanford is now in Plan B. Hopefully they don't have to go to Plan C like last year. Shaw and Pritchard have screwed up QB recruiting since 2018.

Interesting how Lonergan’s dad seems to disagree with you two given his tweet. But we shall see

Maybe he wants his free trip to California.

I guess we will see. Maybe Pritchard and Shaw are hedging. But the most logical explanation for extending another QB offer is that the first one didn’t pan out.

First four didn't pan out. I'll give Shaw some credit for extending multiple QB offers but the continued uncertainty at this position hurts the rest of the recruiting class.

Why would Manning commit to Stanford? This recruit is not about The 40 Year Decision.

The little I know about Arch Manning suggests he's an atypical recruit who everyone wants. The kid is very Andrew Luck-like in the sense he has a lot of interests outside football and appreciates being a student, not just a football player. None of this means I think he will end up at Stanford, just can see how it would make sense if he did.

Also thought there would be a chance that Manning would make a Luck-like decision. But even if NIL is not the critical factor for him, there’s no way he goes someplace where the OL isn’t among the best in the SEC. We’re not even good in the Pac12 right now.
