Bobbk are we looking at Kennedy Umeh, 2024. Member of USA U17 team. Wants to be a doctor

Kennedy Umeh Maryland Belles Basketball Profile

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 06-27-2022

Good find. Ranked 27. I’ve never read or heard her mentioned. Yet

I added Umeh great find dude.
Followed on Instagram by both Katy and Brittany and several 2024 potential Stanford recruits

RE: Class of 2023+ - FOXO1 - 06-30-2022

Well despite all her shooting woes during the USA U18 team, apparently Courtney Ogden can shoot! (If ESPN is to be believed)

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/34157228/women-college-basketball-recruiting-best-scorer-best-leaper-more-superlatives

Among the Honorable Mention in a write up of the best shooter in the current crop of girls HS basketball players.

Juju Watkins named best scorer.

Really early, just as Anna Wilson was. I assume the WBB staff will work with her to make sure she has the classes and guidance to qualify her academically, get past the admissions folks.

Good to see an announcement of a commitment the day AFTER the explosive UCLA/USC departure announcement. And also so great to see a commit from a PG

I am super excited about Swain.  She seems like the super quick, explosively athletic scoring point guard that we always seem to miss out on (Danielle Robinson, Skylar Diggins and Kiki Rice come to mind).

And even though she isn’t ranked by Hoopgurlz, the 2025 rankings are so early as those young women just finished their freshman high school seasons.  The fact that Tara offered Swain so early must mean they see the potential to be a top player.  Remember the other 2025’s with offers from Tara are HG#1 Jazzy Davidson and HG#5 Sienna Betts.

Hailee Swain commits!

In Brandon Clay's evaluation of Hailee SWAIN from almost 2 years ago, he compared her to a young Jordin CANADA:

RE: Class of 2023+ - FOXO1 - 07-06-2022

Looks like ASGR has Swain at #28 early on for the c/o 2025 per Twitter. Elsewhere, I see they bumped Agara way up to #12 (I believe they had her in the 30's or 40's before).

Walk on PG Lauren Green from Castro Valley for next year. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet:

It's quite impressive that 4 seasons from now, Stanford can already manage
to  field a starting line-up,
with 1 SG, 1 combo guard and 1 PG as reserves:

SF - Courtney OGDEN  6'1
PF - Nunu AGARA        6'2
CC - Lauren BETTS      6'7
SG - Indya NIVAR       5'10
PG - Talana LEPOLO    5'7

Reserves:
SG - Stavroula PAPADAKI   6'0
SG/PG - Jhazaniya HARRIEL    5'10
PG - Hailee SWAIN            5'8

Looks like you can add this new walk on Lauren Green 5'8" to the list! High school class of 2022 so will play next year.

The NorCal preps board says Tara invited her to practice with the team and after a week offered her a walk on spot last Friday. Her parents are Stanford alum and brother attends too. 4.5 GPA. Had not heard of her, even though she's local, but one of the top scorers in the area at 24 ppg and looks very athletic on video averaging 10rpg too at 5'8"

from her linkedin page, SAT 1540.

she looks good in the video. i'm surprised she's not at least a bay area all-star.

and, since she was not offered a scholarship, i would infer that we are still holding that last space open for some possible late recruit.

My hunch is that Nivar will spend most of her time at PG during her Stanford career.  Just a hunch but she did play PG when she was on the court for the U18 team.

if lauren green is a walk-on, don't we still have one space open for '22?

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 07-08-2022

Yes 14 on scholarship for 22-23. However keep in mind all those who are about to be Jrs and Srs have a potential covid year. It would be a shame if one wanted to play their covid year got into a Stanford Grad School and left because no scholarship
