That's not a trifecta. It's a perfecta!

Well, Indiana crushed Ohio State 83-59, with MacKenzie Holmes scoring 33 and a little known bench player going 6/8 from three point range. I think it is time we pay attention to them. They may have been flying just slightly under the radar, given that Indiana is not a traditional powerhouse, and given that their superstar is not quite as famous as Caitlin Clark, or Brink, or Boston. But they are a legit final four team.

We played them during the nomadic COVID season, and even played another game or two at their arena. Would be nice to play them again, of course.

Holmes just makes baskets. She can put it in the hoop with either hand anywhere within 10 feet of the basket. Her shots aren't pretty, they just go in.
If we play them, my hope is that our length can slow down their offense and our height will give us the advantage in the paint on offense.
I agree that they will most likely make the final four.

WOW! Looks like Utah has a legitimate chance of becoming the 3rd or 4th regional #1 seed,
especially if they beat Stanford in either their 2nd regular conference meeting and/or
during the PAC 12 tournament.

Indiana's 1-2 punch (McKenzie HOLMES and Grace BERGER) is very similar
to Stanford's 1-2 punch (BRINK and JONES).
And I really like BERGER's game, very athletic, very physical,
highly versatile and a midrange jumper that looks absolutely fabulous.

Also, looks like Tara is a keen judge of talent, as she tabbed Utah to win the conference in the coach’s poll. All the more prescient because as a whole, Utah was picked to finish fifth by both the coaches and the media.

I seriously think LSU should have dropped much further. Their only game against a top ranked team all season and they get blown out. UConn and Stanford almost beat South Carolina and UCLA played them close and led late in the game with a legitimate chance of winning. LSU wasn’t close. The so called experts kept saying that LSU deserved their ranking before the So. Carolina game because “they passed the eye test.” Well they flunked and unless LSU beats a highly ranked team they are an imposter. Utah should be above LSU by a mile.

Indiana is really fun to watch. Really like Berger, pro type guard. Scalia, the player who shot 6 of 8 from 3, is a transfer from Minnesota. Sydney Parrish, Oregon trans, is a starter and contributes in a variety of ways - not just a 3 point shooter

Why don’t we schedule them?
I'm really happy for Lindy's success.
But I also really hope she recognizes that UNLV is not a long-term spot for her. In fact, it felt like she was hardly at Stanford as an assistant before she used that position to snag the UNLV job. She was 2 years at Belmont, 3 years at Stanford and now 3 years at UNLV.
And now I hope she uses the likely NCAA tournament appearance to then jump to a top coaching position in a power conference. Leverage leverage leverage. Go Lindy!

I think a Stanford vs Indiana Final 4 game would be pretty awesome. Similiar styles of play. They don't really press nor turn you over and are not necessarily a grind it out team. I think both teams would feel good about the matchup and I think it would be an entertaining game.

south carolina smacks lsu 88-64.
I keep wondering where the decision to just start playing Betts more meaningful minute came from. Note she was the first sub off the bench vs AZ State.
I watched the ESPN broadcast of the AZ game. The ESPN crew mentioned Tara talked to the team about watching SC vs UConn and how resilient their team is. I wonder if Tara didn’t pick up on some sets how SC utilizes Boston and their 6’7 post and just copied how they space their offense around them. Regardless, I hope Betts stays in the rotation the rest of the way as I think that gives us the best chance to make a deep run. Other than SC, what team can match up with our size.

In ESPN's updated predictions, the three panelists (Creme, Voepel and Philippou) all are still predicting us to make the Final Four and two of the three (all but Creme) tab us as the losing national finalists to South Carolina.
Given our offensive woes of the last month and that our adjustments will be tested over the next couple weeks with the L.A. schools and our trip to the Mountain schools, that will give us a better idea of whether their belief in our ability to pull together a deep postseason run is validated.
Additionally, they all include Brink (but not Jones) as a first-team All-American.

At Storrs, no less. UCONN with only 6 dressed, it appears.
Now UCONN leads by 1 with under 2 to play. 18 fouls on Creighton to 8 fouls on UCONN.
Tied with :47 to play.
Dorka gets a steal. UCONN ball with :39 to play. Tied at 60.
Dorka misses a 3 pointer. Creighton fouls on the rebound. UCONN ball with :16 to play.
Ducharme makes both free throws with :04 to play. UCONN leads 62-60. Now the fouls are 21-8. Homer refs?
UCONN dodges a bullet and wins 62-60 on the back of 12 made FTs vs 4 for Creighton.
