I sure hope we saved 1 spot for Somfai. Four top 100 recruits committed for 2025 and we are still in the summer. Interesting that none waited to do official visits until the fall and announce/sign during the fall signing period. This will be a great class. Hope we add 1 more.

Did you know that Stanford's projected 2025-2026 line-up includes 6 players who have been or are current Team USA members?
2022 - Nunu AGARA - U17
2022 - Courtney OGDEN - U18
2022 - Kennedy UMEH - U17
2023 - Talana LEPOLO - U19
2024 - Hailey SWAIN - U16, U17
2024 - Alexandria ESCHMEYER - U17

Tess Heal was a member of the Australian U18 and U19 teams. BTW, there is a VLAHOV on that Aussie U19 team, too.

You pretty much have Stanford's most likely 9-player regular rotation for 2025-2026 season, with those six with Team USA experience,
HEAL with multiple Team Australia experience and most likely CLARDY (based on the raw potential that she displayed last season)
and Purdue transfer STEVENSON (Big 10 Conference Freshman of the Year last season):

F - OGDEN          6'1
F - AGARA           6'2
F - STEVENSON    6'2
C - ESCHMEYER   6'5
C - UMEH            6'4
G - HEAL             5'9
G - CLARDY         5'9
G - LEPOLO         5'7
G - SWAIN          5'10

with:

- CLARDY, HEAL, LEPOLO, OGDEN and SWAIN at the 1/2/3
and
- AGARA, ESCHMEYER, STEVENSON and UMEH at the 4/5

US Jr Ntl team with Swain and Eschmeyer playing Lara Somfai and the Aussies tonight live streamed on YouTube if interested in watching our future Cardinal.

I turned it on but unfortunately the video keeps freezing and going to audio only.

Tuned in right at the start of the 3rd quarter with USA up 42-32 and SWAIN as the PG. With a minute left, it's 73-38 USA with 35-point lead, just like that!

game was still on youtube at 9pm yesterday, but no longer there today. i thought swain looked great - athletic, poised, ran the point well.  somfai quite aggressive. eschmayer looked skilled though she didn't touch the ball much. i didn't see much from woliczko in the quarter i watched but her stats were good.

Wow, Somfai just recently finished playing another FIBA event, the Asia Cup (U18). Great to see her able to putting up good numbers despite the quick turnaround.

I tried to watch Somfai in the Asia Cup U18 final game where AUS beat China, but it was simply impossible to pay attention to anything other than China's 7'3" (who averaged 35ppg for the tournament!), and Somfai had her worst offensive performance of the tournament in the finals (came averaging 20.5ppg off 57.3FG%, which dropped to 17.6ppg and 50FG% after going 3/15).

Somfai 6'4", her Aussie teammate 6'2", then Zhang Ziyu 7'3".

I had been scratching my head over this girl for a while (i.e. why I'd never seen any mention of Stanford recruiting her), but I never brought it up because, well, what do I know? But she's a 6'1" G/F ranked #21 Hoopgurlz and #23 ProspectsNation, an Arizona HS State Champ in Basketball AND Track & Field, plays for NorCal based Jason Kidd’s AAU Select Team. She's never been a secret out West (had collected 20+ Power 5 offers) nor has her 4.1 or so GPA.

And now she just got an offer from THE UConn.

Usually when UConn is recruits out West, they're a-coming for someone Stanford is heavily recruiting. Perhaps back with that Cal Swish team Geno (and everyone) loved with many c/o 2010 was the the last time we saw Geno pursue West Coast players that weren't offered/recruited by Stanford.

Nothing a secret about her except her name. Don't know who that is. 8^)

Lol, Taliyah Henderson:
Featured with commit Alex Eschmeyer among the top 3 stock risers by ESPN Hoopgurlz last month:

Some brief vid highlights (a "power wing" if you will). DiJonai Carrington feels l like the closest comp in recent memory.

For perspective, Somfai is the same height as Cameron Brink.  That Zhang is a giant.
