RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - fullmetal - 04-25-2025

MacDonald singles to right field on an 0-1 pitch and Campbell scores from second!  Stanford wins!

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - JJJ - 04-25-2025

Glad the good guys won! Quick turnaround for both teams with a 2pm PDT start Saturday. #ACCafterdark

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - TonyLima - 04-26-2025

Fun fact: Saturday, bottom 1. Nati hbp.  Sixth of the series after 5 last night.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - Madera86 - 04-26-2025

Sigh. The bullpen is about to blow a 5-1 lead and waste a good outing from Scott.

Aaaargh! Someone ... anyone: get an out!

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - JJJ - 04-26-2025

Scored 4 runs B8 to go back ahead 9-7. That isn’t a comfortable enough margin against Rake Forest.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - Madera86 - 04-26-2025

Are you kidding me? We give up 4 straight singles and the lead? Grrrrr. Keenan used to be lights out.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - TonyLima - 04-26-2025

Analysis: Wake’s strategy is the hbp.  7 so far last I heard. Sigh. YA bullpen meltdown.

Eager needs to go. The rest of the staff is fine. Pitching is what failed this team this year. I think Eager needs to take his kids out of the dugout and focus on his job.

Did not know about his kids. Agree they are an obvious distraction.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - JJJ - 04-26-2025

Death by a thousand softly-hit singles… at least that’s what T9 felt like.
Our only path to victory is to score 4 runs and end it without using any more pitchers.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - Madera86 - 04-26-2025

Esquer needs to order the bullpen into the showers and then throw in a load of bats,

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - fullmetal - 04-26-2025

Have the pitchers regressed?  Or are they not being developed (coached up) to a collegiate level?  Maybe Esquer needs to find someone in the transfer portal for next year.

What we need is a GOOD pitching coach.  When every pitcher on the roster but one has an era over 5, that says something.  Team ERA is even worse, almost 7. In 2022 our ERA was in the 4's

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - JJJ - 04-27-2025

Bullpen day. T3 and we’re on our 4th pitcher, including 3 frosh.

M3, our pitchers have issued 6 walks today and 28 thus far in the series (24 innings).

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - Maple Leaf - 04-27-2025

Maybe ACC Baseball is played at a higher level due to more talent than the old Pac 12.  Only Oregon State has been consistently in the higher rankings of college baseball followed by Stanford, sometimes UCLA, Arizona, ASU, Oregon, and Washington have had teams competitive enough to make to post season play.

Can we now assume Esky has given up on this season?

Could be. But we got swept by kal at home during our current slump, yet we swept a decent Duke team and took 2 out of 3 from North Carolina on the road when we were winning.

Madera86 - Madera86 - 04-27-2025

Sigh. Bases loaded with 1 out and we come away with nothing.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - JJJ - 04-28-2025

Better start today. Dugan with a 1-2-3 T1 and Haskins and MacDonald with back-to-back doubles. Up 1-0 (vs Sac State).

Dugan went 7 for the 2-1 W. Garewal with the 6 out save. When does this team show up on weekends?

The Cal series was the start of this downfall. Finals week, and no practice is tough, especially when you start strong as this team did. Pitching was suppose the be the strong point this season. Pitchers have not been developed, and with the rotation that this team had, it has been a joke. Can Eager make more trips to the mound in one game. You cannot be quick to yank someone, then late in yanking someone. Esquer has to have someone in mind who could come and make an impact as a pitching coach. Eager is to busy conversing with his family. I never see Esquer talking to his brother who shows up to the games. I have to assume it is his brother because he is down by the dugout and they look so much alike.

With this conference format, are they even eligible for the conference tourney??

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025 - jacket3ree - 04-29-2025

All 16 teams make the conference tournament. Single elimination. Top four seeds receive double byes into the quarterfinals.
