The Hall's Ford C Frick award winners who worked with the Giants are Hodges, Simmons, Miller, and Al Michaels. Didn't realize Michaels worked with the Giants. . . .

Hints. Looks like a duck but not

Michaels was with the Reds and worked a couple of seasons with the Giants before going to NBC. Later he worked for ABC and then returned to NBC for Sunday Night Football. I think one of his partners in San Francisco was Art Eckman.

Crimson, I mentioned Stevens and Peters above, both of whom won the writers' equivalent to the Frick. Nick for East Bay papers and Stevens for the Chronicle. He cut his teeth covering the Seals.
I forgot the great and wonderful Leonard Koppett who spent much of his retirement in press boxes at Candlestick and Pac Bell.
Bobbbbbb's last guy completely escaped me and caused me to slap my head when I found out who.

Got it. Should have searched the names, as I didn't know them. Don't remember many sportswriters, perhaps Glenn Dickey, read the Sporting Green every day growing up, but never paid attention to the bylines.

Just 30 games
OT. Giants sign Alex Wood -
lex24 - 01-14-2021
1 year 3 Million. With up to 3 Million on incentives based on getting 10 outs..... That’s a sorry commentary on today’s starting pitchers....
Typical Farhan move. Low risk decent potential upside. Never been a fan. But he’s had some good years. And some bad and injured ones. At least they now have a lefty in the rotation.

The “10 out” provision protects Wood from being the second guy in after an opener. The old notion of incentives based on starts can now be found in the dumpster.
I had a feeling they would sign Wood. He is has some history with Farhan. I like the move - lots of upside; very little downside. As you noted - a typical Farhan move....
