UCLA lists 15 players on their roster.  How many of those 15 are walk-ons?  And what happened to Kiara Jefferson, who shows up on the roster but who hasn't played this year?  I had not heard that she was hurt too.

I can't make the math add up without knowing those two things, otherwise it looks like UCLA should have 8 players based on the injuries we know about.

First of all ucla went to Oregon yesterday to play today
Ucla has 14 scholarship players
Ucla has been playing with 7 then last game an 8th played one minute. Two of the 8 who played are recovering from injuries
So one of the two couldn’t play and Osborne couldn’t play thus 6 at the most
Yes two years in a row lots of injuries 4-5 season ending

Big week for hoops in Tucson. Arizona men host UCLA and USC. Arizona women host Oregon and Oregon St.

Women's bball fans should be especially interested in the Arizona-Oregon women's game on Friday. Remember Adia Barnes' post-game comments about getting homered by the officials after the teams played in Eugene a few weeks ago.

RE: General WBB 21-22 Season - BobK - 02-01-2022

Oregon is in Arizona tonight to play ASU then stay to play ASU again and Arizona as mentioned above

Angel Jackson 6-5 post McD All American once in the portal out of usc. 4 points and 3 rebounds per game this year

ASU vs Oregon live broadcast available on PAC-12 App now. CTT’s bunch is making a game out of it, only behind 33-30 at the half! ASU trailed by as much as eight, but came back strongly. Worth a look.

ASU giving Oregon more of a game than they gave Stanford, but it looks as if Oregon is likely to win.  Oregon up by 11 with 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.  Oregon ahead because of better FG % (52% vs 44%) and 4 more threes. As for actual game action, I'm only sort of watching so can't comment on who looks good, who looks less good etc. Assume there has been CTT typical hockey line substitutions.

UPDATE -- Oregon wins, 72-58

enjoying watching Notre Dame ahead of NC State (Dodson scoring and rebounding) on ACC Network (now included with ESPN). Looks like NC State has many flying elbows.

Sling also has the game.
ND and Maya Dodson (10 points, 8 rebounds) ahead 32-28 at the half. Maya has really honed her game since playing for Stanford. She is aggressive taking on Cunane, has a smooth hook and put back, and is tenacious on defense. She is the reason that ND is ahead. (She has 4 double-doubles in the last 6 games and has scored two baskets while I add this.)
And, yes, NCS is elbowing their way back into the game. Three well-place hits and two starters are out. Not saying they were intentional or dirty, but the team is very physical on offense and very difficult to penetrate on defense.

RE: General WBB 21-22 Season - Jskass - 02-01-2022

Maybe it's because NC State's shots aren't falling but they look like a fouling machine and I love that Dodson has made Cunane seem pedestrian. So glad for Dodson - seemed like every time she seemed to turn the corner at Stanford she got injured!

When Dodson was in the game, ND was killing NC State. State played dirty, so happy to see 'em go down, even if it means ND wins.

RE: General WBB 21-22 Season - M T - 02-02-2022

ND beat #3 (Net #2) NC State 69-66, leading after the 1st Q.  Maya had 20pts, 10reb.
ND  (Net #18) is up against Virginia Tech (Net #19) on Thursday.

RE: General WBB 21-22 Season - PVTree - 02-02-2022

Louisville trailed Miami most of the game and pulled it out at the end for a 3-point victory. 3 and 4 could have gone down tonight.

RE: General WBB 21-22 Season - WBB fan - 02-02-2022

This seems to be the most upset prone season that I can remember -- every team seems to be vulnerable. Even S Carolina went down to a "who's that!" team (Missouri). More parity, yes, the transfer portal, yes, but I wonder if Covid also is relevant. Teams have to miss games, get out of sync, one or two or more players who are key can't play in games, then come back and have to work their way back into the flow of the game. Just a thought.

Tennessee continuing to hand out quality wins like they’re easy to get orange candy!

Florida hands Tennessee their worst loss in a while absolutely crushing them in the swamp. I don’t know what is going on with Tennessee but with UConn next week, they better figure it out.

Maybe the loss of Keyen Green to an ACL tear in the Jan 23 Georgia game has something to do with it. She wasn't a starter (16 minutes against Stanford), but was averaging 7 points/game and Kellie Harper described her as an emotional leader for the team. Harper said that her injury was a "gut punch" to the team. If this is a contributing factor, Tennessee needs to figure out how to adjust to not having Green available.

Taylor Jones, Oregon State, has shoulder surgery. out for rest of season

RE: General WBB 21-22 Season - Card10Fan - 02-04-2022

Arizona putting the beat down on Oregon. If the score holds, every team (besides us) will have at least two loses in Pac12 play. Oregon is all out of sorts mostly due to Arizona's stifling defense. Only 35 points after 3 quarters, and a ton of turnovers.

Would love to see TN put it together in time for their UCONN match and take down Geno. UCONN is surprisingly vulnerable this season!

Arizona obviously recovered from their loss to Stanford. They have just clobbered Oregon 63-48, great balanced scoring. Played in Tempe, getting revenge for their OT loss to Oregon in Eugene. Didn't look as if Barnes and Graves expletives this time.  Oregon has 21 turnovers!
