A tweet from Allie Ziebel's team shows a list of schools where offers have come from recently. It shows Stanford second, meaning we offered somebody on the team recently. Ziebel is a ‘24 and the only player that would be of interest on that team. So she maybe should be added to the list if an offer was possibly extended. She’s a sharpshooter who had a breakout summer.

Nice! Anyone else watching that highlights reel get Karlie Samuelson flashbacks? Outside sharpshooting guard who can also take it to the rim from time to time as needed.

RE: Class of 2023+ - jonnyss - 08-01-2022

espn rates ziebell as the best shooter in the class, with courtney ogden as honorable mention. i don't see any stories, however, mentioning her academics.

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 08-01-2022

I saw an old list of offers however in a recent story she declined to comment on offers. The story did say she be narrowing the list by the end of summer which could mean soon

Jadyn Donovan - Griffins78 - 08-01-2022

I may have missed it but are we following Jadyn Donovan from Sidwell?

Good news.

Interesting group -- Stanford plus two others with decent academic chops, three less academic oriented. I don't understand UCF in this group. I wonder if that means it's going to be the choice, since it seems to be a sort of outlier. Or does she have Hispanic family in Florida?

Huh? Hispanic family?

Re Hispanic family, I have no information or knowledge whatsoever, but she has a Hispanic name and there's a large Hispanic population in Florida -- only connection I can see to her, living as she does in New Jersey. Just pure, outright, speculation. . .

If another elite top guard prospect picks ND over us, I’m going to be more than annoyed. I hope we lock her in but if she picks somewhere else, let it be any of the others besides Notre Dame.  We’re also the only west coast school. History speaks for itself the number of times we’ve won those recruiting battles for top guards in recent years. The odds don’t seem to be in our favor. It’s our turn to land one of these recruits.

RE: Class of 2023+ - Card10Fan - 08-02-2022

Can anyone confirm if Hidalgo has visited campus?

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 08-02-2022

Can’t confirm she hasn’t but it appears not. Official at a VB game and maybe with her 7 teammates from the USA team also :)

We are a top 10 finalist for Olivia Olson. Class of 2024.

Is Cam working there or at least around from time to time? Would be great if Steph and/or Cam can influence her toward Stanford

I had snooped around about Ziebel after noticing she followed Stanford WBB on twitter, or some other observation. Couldn't find anything explicit about her academics but seems like a possible "in the mix" player of interest at this point. I think I also had a similar observation about Britt Prince from Nebraska same class ranked #11.

In other PAC12 related 2023 recruiting developments, 5'6 PG Jada WILLIAMS (Prospect Nation #16 and ESPN #20) decommitted from UCLA and is now an Arizona Wildcat, joining 6'2 PF Montaya DEW (ESPN #9 and PN #20) and HS teammate 6'4 C Breya CUNNINGHAM (PN #6 and ESPN #10), who was also her teammate with the gold winning 2020 U16 and 2022 U17 USA National Teams.

This gives Arizona back-to-back stellar recruiting classes:

2022:
****
Maya NNAJI         6'4   PF/C    (PN #4, ESPN #9)
Paris CLARK         5'8   SG       (ESPN #21)
Kailyn GILBERT    5'8   PG       (ESPN #31)
Lemyah HYLTON  5'11  SG       (ESPN #85)

2023:
****
Breya CUNNINGHAM    6'4   C          (PN #6, ESPN #10)
Montaya DEW              6'2  SF/PF    (ESPN #9, PN #20)
Jada WILLIAMS            5'6  PG        (PN #16, ESPN #20)

We might want to migrate these discussions to the WBB 2022-23 thread since they aren't really about Stanford recruiting as WBB more generally.

But regardless, if we set the OVER/UNDER for the number of those 7 who transfer at 2, I'd take the OVER. Anyone want to take the UNDER? ;)
