But how did it start? Did the coach (perhaps intentionally or not) cross into the playing field without calling time?
Was he then tossed, and subsequently responded with an obscenity and kicking the plate?

Sydney Steele with the exclamation point HR to left field! Stanford have now dropped
consecutive games with at least 8 runs against some "vaunted" SEC pitching.
I would also argue that at least 1 of the 2 runs was on our defense not taking the sure out at first, and trying to
tag the lead runner. (Allister seemed to echo this in the post-game interview as far as us not making the best
decision to go for the lead runner).
Vawter uncharacteristically gave up some hits with advantages in the count. Law of averages and her quality meant
she was going to start taking advantage of the counts she was able to get.
Regardless of the Card's struggles against Washington, Utah, and UCLA,
this team clearly should have been a top 8 seed, and hopefully is playing with some motivation (by contrast,
Alabama, who shockingly got the #5 seed, is being pushed all the way by Middle Tennessee State,
who had to win conference tourney just to qualify.

The chirping to the umps and seemingly blaming the strike zone
for their loss is arguably more embarrassing.
Congrats to the Cardinal for just a sensational performance. Cardinal head to Durham to take on Duke
for a trip to the Women's College World Series on the line.

Amazing game over at UW. McNeese State, as the “home” team, was leading 6-0 at the top of the 7th. But UW scored 7 runs to win 7-6.

McNeese State stayed with the same pitcher until they lost the lead. It was painful to watch. It was as if the coach believed only that one pitcher on their roster could get three outs before giving up 6 (or more) runs.

I felt so terrible for the McNeese players. Talk about heartbreak

Game #1 is starting on ESPNU. Not sure when the switch to ESPN2 would happen. Also streaming on ESPN+ (requires subscription).

Apparently the game has now switched over to ESPN2.

Duke bunches 3 singles in the 1st inning and plates a run. Most hits in an inning all season vs. Canady.
That may be all they need. Duke frosh pitcher is completely dominating Stanford hitters.

Stanford breaks through in the 5th! Leadoff walk, dropped throw at 2nd on what would have been a force out, followed by Stanford's 1st hit, a double by Lim gets 2 unearned runs.
Stanford leads 2-1 through 5.
