For some historical context.
Luck definitely more potential and production than most of the names on that list. I think if his shoulder checks out, he'd get around what the Broncos got for Cutler, two first round picks, and a 3rd round pick (let's cancel out Kyle Orton and the 5th round pick from the Broncos).

If his shoulder checks out, why would the Colts keep him? The only reason they're going to trade him is if they don't think he's the player he used to be.
I would love to have the Colts give up and trade him. Maybe the Pats would give Garapoluo (sp?) up for Luck. Then Luck can rest and recuperate for a couple of years and take over when Brady leaves. But it's not happening. Unless Luck's shoulder is shot, the Colts aren't giving up on him.

There is no middle ground regarding Luck, it's a polarized situation.
If he recovers he's still 28 years old and extremely valuable based on a history of performance at the most scarce and important position in sports. The Colts would almost certainly not trade him, and if somehow a trade was worked out (e.g. a scenario where they held the top overall pick and thus a replacement was on deck, ironically the Manning/Luck situation) they would receive a significant package despite the injury history.
If he doesn't recover then he can't pass a physical and is untradeable.

One wild card is the contract. Colts might want out of it. Luck could be willing to renegotiate if he goes to a contending team.
