Will be interesting to see who is sent down or released when they get everyone back. Boch is a nervous wreck with 12 pitchers but if they keep 13 that means three position players will adios. Gomez for sure, then between Gorkiss, Blanco, Hanson and Tomlinson. At least three pitchers too.

Yep, and Bochy loves his old veterans dearly. Of course Hundley stays, which if Bochy keeps 13 pitchers leaves only 3 others, and I would think Panda would be one of those three. But he has to keep one middle infielder, and Tomlinson may probably be the most versatile (haven't seen Hansen play short). Tomlinson and Panda can back up every infield position. Then only one extra OF? Hard to pick between Blanco and Gorkys -- Blanco older but also a LH bat. For all the talk about how left-handed the Giants were, they sure seem pretty right-handed now.
I think I can see why Bochy likes so many pitchers. Who will win or save the ball game for you more often -- the 13th P or the 12th position player? If the 13th P can go several innings, he might be the guy, as opposed to a PH who may only come through 25% of the time.

Belt has the highest OPS of any first baseman in baseball, Posey's OPS is second highest of all catchers. Crawford has fourth highest batting average amongst all major league shortstops.

Crawford. .302. Has the highest average of any Giant against fastballs of 95 or higher. So the bat quickness is there. If the All Star game was today and the starters were picked on merit the Brandons would start at first and short. Posey maybe. Cervelli probably deserves it more at this point.
.500 with the injuries and this staff is impressive. If they can avoid a 2-6 on this trip they may just be ok. But this is a brutal trip. Houston for two ( they get Verlander and Cole). Chicago and Colorado. Giants should add Mac in Houston. DH plus two of free days. Can’t go with 12 pitchers for a bit.
It’s going to be interesting to see how they man the outfield. Mac and Pence are coming. At least one OF will have to go. It should be Jackson first. Gorkys has earned a little more time. Blanco the only lefty. Still if they keep only 4 it will be be a problem. Cutch Mac and Pence. Maybe Cutch moves back to Center a bit. Neither Blanco nor Gorkys can effectively play everyday.

Is Jackson making more $ than Blanco or Gorkys? That might be your answer right there. But I agree he's the least productive of the three. Not much of an arm out there and strikes out 37% of his plate appearances, which is worst on the club. Pence's K percentage is almost identical, but he has half the PAs as Jackson does.
Pence is just too brittle now. The odds of him staying healthy all season are pretty bad. At least Slater won't be far away at Sacto.

Jackson has a two year contract- 3 mill a year. So 6 million guaranteed. Which is why they won’t cut him loose. Blanco is prob around 1 mill. Pretty sure it’s a one year contract. I’m guessing Gorkys is close the min which I think is $540,000.
