RE: First timer - Stanford Gameday - Redrum - 08-29-2018

Oooh!  Oooh!  This  next bit  of advice is not as important as avoiding  Kal football  but is  more  useful : Don't just throw some normally useful gameday  stuff in a backpack  and head for the stadium. When you get to the stadium some  60-something guy will tell you backpacks aren't allowed. Same with normal tote bags.  You will be faced with walking all way back to car,  tossing the pack in the trash  or , supposedly, as I was told,  check the stuff with someone outside. Who that was wasn't explained to me.  I chose to  dump the pack (a cheap bank promotion item). The policy and regulations are explained below with acceptable items described.  Note it involves giving Stanford more money but the cost might be worth it if you plan to attend more games.

Note that cocaine is not among the specifically forbidden things carried into the stadium. Just thought I'd mention that.
Don't ask me why my post is justified right instead of the normal left. I just assume when I get up from my desk I'll be in Britain and driving on the wrong side of the road as well.

I'm not sure why it became right-aligned, but you can fix it by doing a Full Edit, Ctrl+A, and then clicking the left-align button. I did that on my reply (and also tested editing your post, although I didn't save the edit).

EDIT: Well now the quote is all messed up, I have no idea why.

Ah, the infamous "clear bag" policy.

Less of an issue for evening games but worth remembering -- if you bring water into the stadium, it needs to be in an unopened bottle.  I fly in for games, so I just buy a bottle at the airport when I land, and keep it for the game.  Or you can bring in an empty water bottle and fill it from the water fountains around the stadium.

Rutgers? There should be very little overlap in kickoff times for our games (Pac-12 after dark, baby!), so it ought to be pretty doable to make as many as you want!

you’re good

Vis a vis "the right side of the road," as one who has spent half my driving life in the USA and the same in the UK, I'm just back from Sorrento, and there the middle of the road is the "right" "side" of the road--everywhere!.  Getting from point A to point B alive is as close to a Bryce Love moment as we will ever experience.....

How many programs are there in New Jersey?  Rutgers is the only FBS program that I know of (though I suppose you might have been a Princeton fan).  After that it's not hard to find out how long Ash has been a head coach.

I don't think I ever mentioned I was from NJ, just that I moved out here from the "east"
Actually, you're right, I slipped in one of the replies after the OP. My apologies...

Had to look back at his committable offers, damn pretty impressive list.

Interesting note, after I moved out here, a buddy of mine mentioned that some RU players started showing up to regularly to our church service in New Brunswick, one of them being Tyshon Fogg!

I feel like another important point that is not necessarily true at other colleges needs to be made. You can drink beer anywhere on campus (or, pretty much, I think the rules changed a little over the last decade). So don't forget to wander through the beautiful campus while carrying around your six pack!
