No, StanfordMatt, I agree w/ you. I was aware, though, that most folks seem to think more highly of Scarlett.

Well, the coaching staff appears to agree with you, as he is getting by far more playing time. However, I personally believe (as noted above) that the team plays better with Scarlett out there. Speights has improved, but to me, the third quarter of the ASU game was much more Scarlett than Speights.

The answer seems to be a clear no - you’re not the only one.
Others in that camp include the coaching staff as Speights is the clear Love sub.
Speights had all the carries in the turtling and overall the carries between the two we’re something like 19 to7.

So what do our running backs look like for next year? I see Scarlett is a senior but don't know if he has more eligibility. Speights is a junior. Justus Woods is a freshman, Dorian Maddox is a junior, Cameron McFarlane is a freshman, and that seems to be it. Are they giving Speights the lion's share because they know he is our running back of the future? What are those freshman like?

Bishop O’Dowd running back Austin Jones is a commit. He is tearing it up and was the only bright spot in a loss to the De La Salle monster.

Despite being smaller, Speights runs harder than Scarlett. He rarely goes down on first contact.

He's also an excellent pass blocker. It used to be a tell for a pass play when he was in there.
