"Terribly disappointing. Stanford may be a contender again in the near future."

"Stanford has continued to be a strong program throughout VanDerveer's tenure. To me they haven't had a truly elite player since Chiney left. They might finally have one again in Brink. Also I think Lexie Hull is going to be a terrific player for the Cardinal."

"Stanford has been getting elite talent from Oregon for years; not surprised. If a West region player prioritizes academics and is an elite athlete, Stanford is the #1 choice in that area (in just about all sports). if offered."

"Imagine Brink , Haley Jones and HVL all choosing stanford!"  (HVL = Hailey Van Lith 2020 point guard)

"Great get for Tara. If she can haul in 1-2 other elite players, we could see Stanford back as a title contender like they were from 2008-2012 when she had several top 5 kids on her teams (Ogwumikes, Pederson, Appel, Wiggins, etc.)"

"Who's helping Coach T out in recruiting? There's some serious action going on the ranch.....and Ms. Jones has yet to make her decision."

Then there were a couple of pages of comments on whether Brink should or shouldn't be compared with Breanna Stewart.

I haven't looked at the thread, so I don't know if those quotes are selected.  But at the very least, I appreciate the respect that some posters seem to be granting us and how gracious they seemed to be.  Again, I don't know if those were representative, but it does make me dislike UConn a little less, and these days that might not be a bad thing.

Yes, I did select them out...but my general impression over the years is that the Boneyard does tend to be very respectful of Tara.  It is a pretty civil board.

For those basketball junkies out there -- this isn't related to recruiting -- but look at this great video of the team!

Great news and definitely a recruit we need to stay among the elite teams in the country.

I wonder if Van Gytenbeek was recruited as a back-up point guard, especially if we are going after Paige Bueckers. If we got her (and Jones)... imagine the three-headed monster of Bueckers, Brink and Jones. That's going to be a dangerous combo no matter who we would go up against.

I've been reading the Boneyard off & on for years and it's been interesting to see its evolution. In the early years they were like Notre Dame football fans, with a lot of bragging and off-putting triumphalism. More recently they must've become more confident in their team, cuz they (many of them) show more knowledge of and interest in other teams and will give credit where its due. I find it's a board worth visiting now & then.

i've been assuming she'd go to Notre Dame due to location. Is that likely?

Dunno what's likely. I think everyone is recruiting her, particularly UConn. She is from Minnesota , so why would ND be her choice due to location?
