Nothing will ever beat the 1990 game in my book. But I'm also very fond of the 1991 game, when C.al came into the game 9-1 with lots of assumptions about how great they were, and Tommy Vardell et al took them to the woodshed. That was the game in which the Weenie quarterback was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct, when he wasn't even in the game.

He guaranteed a California victory, that's what Golden Bear wide receiver Brian Treggs did. He said it loud and clear, loud enough for every Stanford player to hear. And just in case any of them were hard of hearing, he added a personal twist to the prediction.
"I will live in Palo Alto if we lose to Stanford," he announced. "I will not come back to Berkeley."

winflop, thanks for that one. I think I missed their "play of the game" because their stadium only had one video board at the time, and it was behind us.
Regarding that 2010 Big Game - the performance by the Stanford team was undoubtedly the closest to perfection of the 46 Big Games I have witnessed. There is precious little that I could find fault.
Every possession with Luck at the helm ended in a score. The first punt came when Josh Nunes came in for mop up duty in the fourth quarter. There were no Stanford turnovers. There was only one penalty on Stanford, and it was not egregious - the Stanford DL was putting pressure on their QB and had his arms up to try to deflect the pass, and his hand came in contact with the helmet, an automatic penalty. And it could have/should have been a shutout. Cal only scored when it was 45-0 and it required 1) the second and third string defense, and 2) trickery (a pitch to the WR on a reverse who then threw a pass for a TD, then a hook and lateral play in the flat for their last TD).
This game also gave birth to the Harbaugh quote, "Shut up and play football", when the Cal team came out for the coin toss and tried to start a fight. Didn't work.

By the end of 2010, Stanford was playing absolutely great football, some of the best I have ever seen us do. This, of course, culminated with us destroying Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl. I've always thought it would have been great if we could have gotten another shot at the Ducks then.

The woofing gods cursed Brian Treggs so badly for his hubris that it extended to the next generation. His son Bryce played at Cal and never beat Stanford either.
