I still remember the first title they won when Gary Radnich interviewed John Shaw after. Pretty impressive to win 8 titles since 1991 given how fierce the competition is and the obvious recruiting challenges.

I am only an occasional volleyball watcher, but this one was special. Nearly gave me cardiac arrest--such incredible momentum shifts especially with the contrasting 3rd and 4th sets.
I just had a feeling as the first set came to a close that the winner of the first set would somehow go on to win the match. Nebraska's defense was awesome--it seemed almost impossible at times to get anything to the ground. That statement that one of you made after we beat BYU that "good defense beats good offense" was running through my mind as we would sometimes take three or four swings and still wind up losing the point. But the run at the beginning of the fifth set seems to have been the momentum changer. What a great season and what an exciting finale!

How critical was that challenge that changed the call on the court? I didn't think it was obvious the serve was in. That could have been easily called "call stands" and the score becomes 13-11 instead of 14-10.
Except for the 3rd set, I suffered throughout the match and had flashes of doubt. Very relieved and elated we pulled this off for the streak, the Cup, the Natty race, etc.

I forgot about the match until seeing a post on /r/StanfordCardinal and ended up watching most of it from the 3rd set on. Had to put my kid to bed at the end of the 4th, but saw most of the 5th. My wife and I (like the rest of you, I'm sure) could scarcely breathe at the end of the 5th. Very exciting!
I do have to say that as an occasional volleyball watcher I was often completely baffled about who actually scored a point. The announcers weren't super helpful in that regard. Oh well!

Usually, I roll my eyes when someone like Muir issues an apology for something someone under his watch does, because usually it's pretty innocuous stuff. But C'mon, man. You shouldn't need to resort to disrespecting your opponent in such a way to motivate your team to win.
Why didn't the whiteboard have something like "BE THE FIRST TO 8!!!" on it, with maybe the tree standing on the Nebraska mascot? Using gun imagery AND a middle finger IS a bit over the top, and IS classless. You cross the line from wanting to beat your opponent, to disrespect and hate, with the drawing whoever made. Of course, there was also this that I loved, so maybe visuals are just more meaningful than words...

Yeah, it's a stupid, immature image. But it was drawn on the locker room white board. It's not like it was a sign displayed at the match or an image the team shared on social media. It was probably done in a moment of boredom in the locker room. Anyone who thinks their team's players haven't done something similar at some point is deluding themselves. This is not worthy of controversy.
They way I look at it, that drawing is a gift to the cornhuskers and their fans. It allows them to feel superior to Stanford, despite losing the match.

I disagree. They both had very nice games, no doubt, but I think the Nebraska OH was the MOP of the tournament. It would have been a great gesture to give her the award. Or make her the co-MOP with Hentz.

Everyone has the right to be offended by whatever they want to be offended by. Muir is a good leader and a good man. If he feels a need to apologize , why not? For me, not so much. Nothing should take away from what these ladies accomplished in winning the national championship. Any Nebraska fan who was offended by a drawing on a locker room whiteboard has never sat in the stands and listened to Corhusker fans when Nebraska football is playing, say Ohio State . Shhh! Makes me long for the days when a Stanford defensive cheer emulated Harvard vs Dartmouth. “Repel them, Repel them. They shall not advance.” Sorry if our polite, nice girls won in five in a tough match in a tough sport against a tough, worthy opponent. Great win. No qualifications and no apologies.

There is a difference between being offended and recognizing something as inappropriate, over the top, and/or misplaced.
I'm not offended by the drawings at all, but I do think they are misguided and reflect poorly on Stanford's Women Volleyball team.
As an aside, it's my experience that women can be far nastier and competitive with other women than men are with men. And if you've ever been in a women's bathroom, you know they can be more disgusting too!

From what I saw on Twitter they were more upset about the replay call on Wilson’s ace.
I wasn’t following things earlier this year and was surprised to see that Lexi Sun had transferred from Texas to Nebraska, and without the need to sit out a year. She’s now 0-2 vs Stanford in the FF, but she has two more years to try to get revenge.
I’m sure Nebraska will be back next year, and very motivated.

Just an awesome win after an awesome season. I’m a season ticket holder and just loved every game. So many great players on this team Including some really good players who didn’t get on the court much. But remember how you play in the game is a result of practice

Reading the comments on that board is reassuring. I'm sure some Nebraska fans will "never forget the whiteboard!" and use it as a rallying cry of sorts. But it's a tempest in a teapot that will quickly be forgotten by most everyone else.

First of all, congrats to the team. Great win.
As for the photo--just stunning. I'm extremely disappointed with these girls' parents. I mean, what kind of upbringing did they have? In this day and age, I can't believe they never learned that it's not safe to run with scissors!
