Kiner I can understand. But Seaver? Can’t believe an SC fan didn’t know that.

Charles Seaver (Stanford, '34) was a terrific golfer, once beating Lawson Little, his Stanford teammate, in the second annual Stanford University Invitational.  He also played football for Stanford.  Not incidentally, he was a very close friend of my grandfather (Stanford, '42) as both were in the California Dried Fruit Association for decades together, and they both lived in Pebble Beach during the last few decades of their lives.

Does anyone know if Tom Seaver applied to Stanford?  I know he attended USC, his sister Katie went to Stanford, his brother Charles went to C.al and his sister Carol went to UCLA. Seaver was very small coming out of high school, joined the Marines, then went to Fresno City College. He intended to go to USC to become a dentist, but grew five inches and fifty pounds, and all of a sudden he could PITCH.
