Lake Michigan looks like it is 17 below, not 17.  You must have used the Celsius scale for Lake Lag. BC

Updates on the predictions widget: 1) I've added the official rules to the <a href="https://thecardboard.org/board/predictions.php">results</a> page.  Note: I've removed the (-10) for picking against Stanford as there was some on the board who felt that this didn't make sense and I counted myself among them.  If there is strong consensus that we should penalize people for picking against us (I mean, they should already feel pretty crappy going against all that is good and great and the light), then I will add that back in.  But given that we have a little over 24 hours left before the scoring begins, we should lock this down. 2) I've added the link to the "Rules & Results" page on the little ticker that appears on the main cardboard forum page. Let me know of any questions / concerns.  Can't wait for the season to start... Go Card!

Upon further consideration of both teams’ defensive strengths, and taking into account our penchant for turtling (of which I’m always a big fan because it means we are WINNING with 95%+ certainty), I’m going to update both scores downward.   I will also label Lake Lag as Celsius and Lake Michigan as the absolute value of a negative number. That will make it all coherent, for those actually keeping track. ;-)

Nice work George.  The results format looks excellent.  This is going to be fun.

Stanford score is in Celcius; Northwestern score is in Kelvin.

The Tally so far at 2W-2L, with two undercard games tonight.  Pac 12 WINS / FAVORED Utah beats @BYU, 30-12.  Utes beat the 5 points, and looked decent doing it. AZST stabs KENT, 30-7.  SDevils failed to cover 26 points. WASH over EWAS.  Favored but no spread.  Won't be close. #23 WAST has NMST, Favored by 31 for the Pirate.  Count on 50+ passes. USC hosts FRES, Favored by 14 -- Helton is gone if he loses this one.  Dogs have TOO MUCH to replace. COLO hosts COST.  Favored by 13 STAN gets NORW.  Favored by 6.  At home, we can cover. KAL hosts UCDV.  Favored but no spread.  Bears likely get scores by the Defense. LOSSES / Pac12 UNDERDOGS UCLA loses @CINC, 14-24.  CINC was favored by just 2.5. Utah only favored by 5 in that game surprised me. BYU is just ok.

I'm done paying attention to CFP implications for the Pac 12. The bottom line is that we'd stand a good chance with 1 loss, and no chance with 2 losses, regardless of strength of schedule. And the other point is that we haven't been remotely close to deserving consideration since 2015, so this team has quite a mountain to climb. The fact that I'm acknowledging this doesn't make me any less hopeful or fanatical about the dawn of a new season...

I won? I mean, I did the prediction as a lark, but I’ll take any victory when Stanford manages to walk away with a win.  Is there a prize apart from bragging rights that I won something while I was busy hiking in the mountains of Colorado instead of watching the opening game?
