Umm . . . it's not over yet. OR is up 21 -13 with 3:11 left in the 3rd.

Oregon has not won yet. They are up 8 with a quarter to go.

I mean, we know how good the Ducks are when they have a 99% chance of winning the game. :)

RE: This week in opponents: Week 1 - BostonCard - 08-31-2019

Whatever the Ducks were doing earlier on offense, they have to do that again. Last three Oregon drives: two three and outs and three punts.

I just think it's hard to go wire-to-wire crushing an opponent.

RE: This week in opponents: Week 1 - martyup - 08-31-2019

Why didn't Auburn go for 2?

RE: This week in opponents: Week 1 - BostonCard - 08-31-2019

Yeah all of a sudden it’s a one-point game.

At the end of the year, Northwestern will be described as a "good," solid team with 4-5 wins. Today's game says very little about what Stanford can accomplish against good teams.

False start meant they would have had to convert from the 7.

BC

Mario Crystobal May have cost his team the game. First, he calls a time out to try to get Herbert back in after he was hurt, then he has to call a time out because after an injury, a player isn’t allowed to come back even if a time out is called. Then he goes for it on fourth and one with his backup and gets stuffed.

Then again, auburn goes three and out so Oregon will get the ball back.

BC

Oregon, really? REALLY?

SMH. They HAD this game, JUST like they did Stanford last year. UN-REAL.

What a choke by the Ducks.

BC

Up 21-6, Oregon gives up 21 unanswered points. Brutal.

BC

RE: This week in opponents: Week 1 - washingtonismoney - 08-31-2019

Meanwhile, SC is clearly better than Fresno, but the Bulldogs are hanging around, hanging around. 17-10 SC with Fresno driving. Wunderkind JT Daniels has a little too little wunder and is getting a bit old to be a kind, and has been making some questionable decisions, including a bad pick on the goalline.

SC's offense so far today is why i still feel grumpy about the Airraid and prefer other spread- or pro-style offenses. They're having great success running the ball but have called double the number of passes.

RE: This week in opponents: Week 1 - BostonCard - 08-31-2019

Let me count the ways. With a 15 point lead, he had drives of 1:31, 2:32, and 1:31. Like he couldn’t take some time off the clock with a lead like that. There’s the fact that he pissed away two time outs, and with a lead went for it on fourth and one from midfield with a backup QB, when he could have pinned Auburn deep. With about five minutes left, Oregon was snapping the ball with ten seconds left. They could have left auburn with virtually no time on the clock... but no.

In a little over two seasons, Oregon has pissed away two 15-point leads. I wonder how many 15-point leads Stanford has given up in Shaw’s entire tenure.

BC

Daniels is injured in the SC game.

Yeah, 6.3 yards per pass versus 7.1 yards per cary. So of course USC has run it 15 times and thrown 34 passes.

BC
