Ken was asked this question directly on NPR and said it's irrelevant because it assumes a world in which Alex Trebek is gone. Of course, that's not a denial of interest...

He's genial, witty in an appropriately dorky Jeopardy way, liked by seemingly everyone, and a legend. I'm sure they'd want to screen-test various hosts to see what clicks, but he obviously has to be at the top of the list.

The Trebek cadence and delivery is important, though. Someone with a NPR-style voice and way of speaking could do the trick and feel the most like Trebek, but the show might be more concerned about maintaining ratings in a post-Trebek world, and Jennings would presumably be a bigger boost to that than a new face.

If you follow Ken on Twitter, it won't be long before you understand that he is not shy about letting his political views be known. I don't know how the producers feel about that. He has gotten into a bit of hot water about that already. FYI, he's a Warren/Sanders guy, which you could deduce from his place of residence.

I thought the tournament was quite entertaining. Those three guys have an amazing breadth of knowledge. Very impressive to see them together reeling off answer after answer. They are really good. It was pretty humbling for anyone who has ever thought "I could play this game."

Jennings and Holzhauer were pretty evenly matched. I was happy to see Jennings win. He earned it with a really strong overall performance. And he seems like a decent guy.

I admire Holzhauer's ability, but I've never been a fan and I wasn't rooting for him. You have to give Holzhauer credit for changing the game -- the other players felt they could beat Holzhauer only by adopting Holzhauer's super-aggressive betting tactics.

Rutter didn't manage to buzz in enough to win. (He buzzed in first on only 17% of the clues, compared to 37.5% for Jennings and 41.5% for Holzhauer.) Rutter also had difficulty on the Daily Doubles, although in fairness he was given some pretty tough clues IMO.
