We have 14 turnovers.  Lexie has 5 TO vs. 2 pts.  Wow.  Room to improve, though.

Almost all of those close defenses wear down a bit.  Scoring in the 4th quarter usually goes up for both teams.  But I'm not sure exactly why they would have slowed down at the start of the 3rd quarter.

47-42 we lead.  A much better 3rd quarter offensively, but Aari McDonald largely sat.  We are absolutely blanking Reese who has 0 points so far.  But we are giving up too many open shots to Pueyo and McBryde, who are keeping them in the game with 9 treys between them.  We cut turnovers down to "only" 3 in that quarter.

The fourth quarter will be, not surprising, decisive.

Stanford came roaring back in the 3rd and went up by 9 at one point.  However, UofA hit some 3s and cut into the lead.  End of the 3rd and we're up by 5.

7-0 run by Az. We havent scored for 3 minutes

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Arizona Friday 5pm - 81alum - 02-28-2020

We are keying on their two stars, but it turns out they both are probably suffering from health ailments and we may need to pay a lot more attention to Pueyo Thomas and McBryde, who are all in double digits and have the game tied up.  Five minutes to go and it is a new game.

Tied at 52 with 4:47 remaining.  Gut check time.

Not impressed with this offense.   Why do we dribble so much?   And the passing is not very good either.  So sloppy and the turnovers are ridiculous.   For a top ranked team, they should be much more polished.

If she was not fouled, she would have turned over the ball.   These girls cannot inbound a ball.   So many 5urnovers.

Our end of clock offense (other than let Kiana shoot or drive) has never been good.

OVERTIME.  Can't inbound the ball on our end.  Lucky to make it to OT.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Arizona Friday 5pm - 81alum - 02-28-2020

We fought with heart at the end but came up short.  22 turnovers.

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Arizona Friday 5pm - mbdude - 02-28-2020

Loss all comes back to end of game play in regulation
Some overcoaching perhaps
And 23 TO's

RE: WBB: Stanford @ Arizona Friday 5pm - petersalas - 02-28-2020

Missed free throws at the end of game were also costly... so disappointing.

No fouls called on that last sequence (McDonald bumped Williams, and I don't know who mugged Lexie). But we had our chances to win before. Live and learn.

Great. Our second moral victory in less than a week...

RE: WBB: Arizona 73 Stanford 72 OT - treetop11 - 02-28-2020

We deserved to lose; again FT shooting, stupid passes, dumb decisions - and I don't want to hear the apologists whining about "harsh" but true criticism and to say that it was another 'moral victory'.
Also had to mute the volume - what's with the P12 having big time homers call the game and the camera work was just as bad. Did we really have to have a long shot of McDonald sitting on the bench while the game is going on? Or nothing but UA highlights interrupting coverage?

RE: WBB: Arizona 73 Stanford 72 OT - BosCard - 02-28-2020

We turn the ball over all the time because we don’t have any players other than Kiana who can create their own shot.  It’s like the Hulls, Fingall and Dodson all would rather turn the ball over forcing a pass that isn’t there.  Unfortunately the players who can create their own shot (Carrington and Jones) are down and so are our hopes of a good season this year.

RE: WBB: Arizona 73 Stanford 72 OT - stanford22 - 02-28-2020

I don’t understand why Maya is at the key.   Her strength is at the basket.   Why doesn’t she drive to the basket?   Why don’t we use more screens?  Why don’t we pass inside then pass back out?   Need to make the shots easier.   Kiana is going to get worn down.  Yes, the drivers to the basket are all injured.
