These events are not directly relevant to Stanford's coach situation, but I think it's a reminder that Stanford is also looking for a coach, as a replacement for Lindy. Does anyone have any insight re this?

So, the SEC had a hypothetical matchup of Tennessee all-time greats vs. South Carolina all-time greats and LeBron chimed in, saying the Lady Vols would win and suggested matching them against a UConn dream team of Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore, Breanna Stewart and Rebecca Lobo (that would be an incredible lineup), which got me to thinking, what would Stanford's all-time team be?
I've only watched Stanford wbball since the mid-2000s, so my knowledge is limited to players since then, so others will have to determine how 90s players liked Azzi, Goodenbour, Nygaard, Starbird, etc. would fit in, but a team just from when I've watched them would be something like:
Wiggins
Powell
Appel
Nneka
Chiney

Jennifer Azzi, Sonja Henning, Kate Starbird, Kristen Fokl, Val Whiting are all strong candidates for this list. Of the ones you mention, Goodenbour and Nygaard were very, very good, but not in the same class. Note that all the ones I've listed were 1st team all Americans, and IMHO they fully deserved the honor. Re Henning, who doesn't often get mentioned on such lists, for my money, she was the best point guard that Stanford has ever had, consummate play-maker and team glue. The 2nd best was probably Jamila Wideman. Both were players who made everyone else on the team better.

Agree that Sonja and Jamila among most underrated players in Stanford WBB history (might add Amber Orrange, Kate Paye, and Vanessa Nygaard to that group, too).
On any All Time Starting 5 for Stanford women's BB, you have to have Kristin Folkl in there. She may be the best Stanford athlete I've ever seen play. And she was soooo good in hoops (and she didn't come near her ceiling, at least with any consistency). Pederson has to be in for consideration. And I'd add one other for consideration - who would never make it - but she is my all time favorite glue player: Jillian Harmon (also very underrated).

She started in the 1997-98 season, and in her other seasons when she also played volleyball and didn't start, she racked up a lot of minutes. She was an incredible player.

nneka at the 4. i agree that kristin folkl was amazing, but i can't put her ahead of nneka or jayne.
starbird at the 3.
candice at the 2
has to be jennifer azzi at the 1, though i agree that sonja and jamilla were pretty great. and molly almost single-handedly won our 2nd ncaa title.
nicole is the 6th (wo)man. first off the bench at all 5 positions.
jeanette Pohlen was a consensus all-american.
2nd team is kristin & chiney at forward, nicole at 3, jeanette and sonja in the backcourt
not yet mentioned is lindsay yamasaki. terrific player on some not very good teams.
3rd team molly & jamilla at guard, lindsay at the 3. val & kayla (or alanna smith) at forward.

I really hope that DiJonai’s third choice now is Stanford and she returns since this spot has opened up.. maybe that’s why she has waited to announce third option..

Oof. This has been a rough week for Stanford basketball, between Carrington, Terry and now Moschkau. I guess it's not crazy because she really never moved up the depth chart and there's only so much any players wants to warm the bench. And it seemed like Jump had already "jumped" her in the depth chart at backup Wing by conference play anyway, so that wasn't likely to change going forward.
But man, the added flexibility of grad transfers is starting to eat into our roster depth. :(
Best wishes to her - didn't get to see her play much but her trey was a thing of beauty when she go it.
