Out of the ICU now. Probably not totally out of the woods yet, but very positive development.

The fact that he never needed intubation means that he'll be in the majority of covid victims who survive...as all my economy-uber-alles facebook acquaintances are fond of saying, the mortality rate is indeed low.

I am not displeased that he will make a recovery...now if only he would start leading the UK like a reasonable person.

By this, you mean per the mandate given him by a significant majority in the recent election, right?

My statement was agnostic to the political characteristics of his leadership.  I'm not taking the bait as this is another discussion entirely.

Huh?!? You make a blatantly political statement, get called on it, then respond as you did. You're admitting you're agnostic (without knowledge) about his leadership, yet condemning it all the same. I'm baffled.

For lots of reasons, glad to see BoJo is on the mend. And I assume his experience will categorically put to rest the "this is just the flu" counterarguments? He had staked out a fairly strong "let's not overreact" position, so he had zero to gain politically from being admitted to hospital with this, let alone the ICU. I'm assuming he waited to be admitted until his life was literally at risk if he didn't. 

In my living memory, I cannot recall an elected leader of a developed country needing to be admitted to the ICU due to the flu. Given all this, I think it's safe to assume this is at least an order of magnitude worse than the flu. Scary to think that even the rosiest (realistic) herd immunity projections suggest less than 10% of Western Europe and North America has been exposed to this.

I believe this is what's known as confirmation bias.  Also, I'm not sure you understand my usage of "agnostic" or the context of my comment (BoJo, ill with coronavirus after shaking hands with an entire ward of sick patients).  If that doesn't calm you down, then I can't help you.
