Williams is not the only recruit we signed this year. We already had a pretty good class with 4* power forward Max Murrell, 3* SF Brandon Angel, and 3* SG Noah Taitz.

We now have the top-ranked recruiting class in the Pac-12 (though that is driven by numbers). Before Williams, we were still in the top 3.

By the way, Taitz a 3* is a complete joke. He was hurt for his entire senior season (hence the rating drop), came back in the state championship game not at 100% and had 13 points including the game winning 3. He can run the point and shoot. I'm very bullish on him.

He's got a really nice, relatively smooth, all-court game. He's got terrific range on his trey, can hit the stop and pop, the midrange jumper, and step-back jumper, dishes outside pretty nicely while driving to the hoop, and finishes pretty well in traffic.

He's not the fastest though, so he either needs to work on his first steps or else (like many 18-year-olds) will need to put on some muscle to finish through with contact.

But yeah, that highlight reel was much more exciting than what I was expecting given his rating. ESPN has him as a 4-star who's 93rd in the Top 100.

Delaire really developed and should provide good depth. Kisunas gives us some beef and 5 fouls off the bench. Depth in the back court is what we need. Those frosh guards better be ready to contribute. Isaac White's transfer hurts more sans Terry. We need 3 point shooters in the backcourt given not a strength for Davis and Wills.

Davis is a solid three-point shooter. He shot 40% on 3's as a freshman, 34% as a sophomore, and 32% as a junior. And during his junior season, his shot was clearly affected by the mask he wore for most of the P-12 season. He was shooting over 40% before the mask, probably closer to 20 with it on and the few games afterward.

2019: KZ Okpala (NBA), Marcus Sheffield (grad transfer), Cormac Ryan (undergrad transfer), Trevor Stanback (medical retirement)
2020: Isaac White and Kodye Pugh (grad transfers), [Tyrell Terry (NBA)]

Generally speaking, we're talking 2-3 departures with eligible seasons left on the table per year. Because Stanford can't really take in transfers to shore up depth like everyone else can (and does), we HAVE to "overfill" the freshman class every year to compensate. Thus I'm in favor of taking 5 this year, because it looks like next year we're again losing 1-2 early departures (Ziaire and Terry if he stays) at minimum, plus Daejon and Oscar are graduating.

Agreed, though assuming the only guys left on the board for 2020 are marginal players, it makes sense to hold off. I just watched a few minutes of the Polish kid playing - and take this with a grain of salt because it was only a handful of plays - but he didn't look to my untrained eye like an upgrade over Kisunas or Keefe.
