Really wish we could have landed one of von Oelhoffen, Kampschroeder, or Citron in this class, as I think we really could have used a skilled 2/3 in ‘21. Hopefully we can get Iriafen and maybe one other to close out ‘21.
Hopefully we can get Kiki Rice and a 4/5 or two in ‘22.

Here is an interesting take on Von Oelhoffen from an Oregon State fan on the UConn General Women's Basketball board:
"As a fan of Oregon State, I'm very pleased to have another proven scorer in Von Oelhoffen committed to the Beavs for 2021. She is a gifted scorer who may break Van Lith's all-time state of Washington scoring record next season. I have little doubt that she will be a quality scorer at the next level. I'm just not sure whether she can be an elite point guard in the PAC-12. Opposing high school coaches who have coached against her have shared that sentiment. If she has been promised the point for Oregon State, I would be surprised. She will have to earn that spot and may struggle to handle the ball against point guards with quickness.
In high school, she has been a volume shooter, Last season, she averaged 26 points per game on just over 20 shots per game. She shot 32% from beyond the arc on just over 6 attempts per game. Not elite numbers. She is a confident player who should step into the starting line-up for Oregon State as a frosh if she continues her progression. I am just not convinced that she is Oregon State's point guard of the future. I would rather see her play the 2 and use her strength advantage at that position."
While I still would have liked to have seen her as a Cardinal, it does take the sting out of missing out on her. I thought she might be able to play the point in the PAC-12 but it seems like there are some questions about that.
And her 3 point shooting is pretty good but not great. Here is how she has shot from 3 the last 3 years:
- Von Oelhoffen - Fr, So, Jr (32%, 31%, 32%)
- Jump - Fr, So, Jr, Sr (40%, 44%, 45%, 39%)
- Van Gyytenbeek - Fr, So, Jr, Sr (33%, 36%, 40%, 45%)
- Harriel - Fr, So, Jr (30%, 36%, 36%)

if that becomes a more important factor, it's not all bad for us since there are always a lot of very good recruits in California. At least in the PacNW, parents can drive to at least 4 games and often five if we play Gonzaga or some other program up there. And it also depends on how important the scholastic side is for these students. Some of them will also be happy to be further away from the parents/hometown. Remember when you were 18? Some like to stay close, some like space!

Hi BobK, would you consider adding 2023 Courtney Ogden to our watch list? She is a 6'1" wing from Atlanta, GA. She is ranked #5 overall in ESPN HoopGurlz's rankings. Kate Paye has been following her on twitter for quite a long time. And Ogden's twitter page just seems like she is a very high achieving young woman who would very much value a Stanford education. She has been studying Mandarin for four years and has a 3.75 GPA.

I also have a 2023 NE player to add when I can. Dad says she has a Stanford offer. True or not shows they have interest in Stanford

I think Haley Jones GPA was around a 3.25 when she committed. 3.75 not too bad.
Brink was in similar range as Ogden.
Jump, Harriel, and Belibi were definitely 4.00 or over.

Wow, if she now plays for Oregon that would explain a lot. I know this player's test scores were reasonably good. I wonder if there is a different standard for volleyball versus sports that bring in more revenue?

What do you think about adding 2022 wing Jennah Isai? She is 5'11" and is ranked #54 overall by HoopGurlz. Tempie Brown follows both her and her mother. And she has a 4.42 GPA
